But you get google maps and Waze instead which is so much better.

The compustar system and the alpine head unit where fighting each other while connected to the ECU. They had to wire the harnesses differently. Everything works perfectly now. Only thing I can’t get is the fuel gauge to work on the head unit. All other gau7work fine.

    Hi guys,

I have a 19 Platinum and looking to go the F309 route, sourcing everything separate to save some $$ and have the full programming functionality of the Maestro. Below is the list of parts I have gathered that I need... I know there are others on here that have sourced everything separate, and was wondering if there is anything I am missing? Any Help would be appreciated! TIA!

    -SXV300 - XM Tuner
-Maestro SAT-TO2 - Adapters for factory XM and GPS antennas
    -Maestro USB-TO2 - USB Adapter
    -Maestro ADS-MRR - Interface device
    -Maestro HRN-RR-TO2 - Harness
    -ILX-F309 - Head Unit
    -Scosche TA2116B - Dash Mount

I bought an entire setup from @james@tech12volts
Email him. His price for all my parts was much cheaper than Crutchfield. I got a KENWOOD but with all the same accessories you are getting and he supplied everything.

Just ordered the Alpine Halo9. My audio shop is going to install everything. I’m sure they will hook it up perfectly.

Now the real question is.... who has the JL audio stealth box?! How can you have such a nice head-unit without the bass?! ;)

This looks like a pretty good list of needed items. Can anyone confirm this so I can get started? I have a 2018 Platinum. I have that Best Buy geek squad deal where they will install all of this for free for me, I just have to bring in all the stuff they will need.

Any way to hide the microphone? They installed it behind the steering wheel in the center of the dash.

    Thanks!

Is there a new firmware for the 309? Why is it so difficult to find on alpines website.

No clue... wish I could help. Just moved the MIC and like it a lot better now.

@Migraine Damn you! HAHA, good call on those extras. I do not plan on hooking things up to it right away, but having this for the future is a no-brainer. So, now the new parts list is below, and I think that this everything needed based on others' replies ;);)

    -ILX-F309 - Head Unit
    -SXV300 - XM Tuner
-Maestro SAT-TO2 - Adapters for factory XM and GPS antennas
    -Maestro USB-TO2 - USB Adapter
    -Maestro ADS-MRR - Interface device
    -Maestro HRN-RR-TO2 - Harness
    -Scosche TA2116B - Dash Mount

    Optional Items:
-KAC-001 - Alpine Truck Accessory Controller
-KCU-315U - Alpine USB/HDMI Extension Cable (Although it looks like you can use a basic HDMI extension if you don't need/want the faceplate and usb (I plan on using the factory USB Port))
-MicroBypass Parking Brake Override Bypass for Alpine

I love my 2018 Platinum except for the awful Entune system. I mean horrible sound, low power, inefficient GPS - it is the one giant wart on this otherwise fantastic truck. So this past week, I replaced it with Halo9 ILX-F309 (non TND) and wanted to thank everyone on this thread as it was an incredibly helpful resource in purchasing, configuring, and wiring and gave me answers that were better than other resources. So I got the non-TND from Amazon for $780, Scosche Kit, Maestro Harness, and all other adapters from Amazon for about $210, so even $1,000 and did all soldering and wiring myself.

Got everything wired, flashed maestro, and ready to go in about 3 hours after work on Tuesday night. Came home at lunch on Wednesday and took me about 90 minutes to install everything. Drove it down to see my son at college - couple hundred miles round trip that night, then yesterday, we took it a few hundred miles round trip to my youngest daughter's basketball game, and I love my new Alpine Halo9.

It has become a totally different system from sound quality and power. Once the EQ is set, the sound sound is tremendously improved. My wife took it this am to our older daughter's house, a couple hours away, and said everything bluetoothed to her phone no problem, Waze works flawlessly, and Carplay has worked flawlessly. Previously, when she would take it, then I would take it (or vice versa) the Entune system would get all wonkey with connectivity issues. It would connect phone, but not music, had to be cleared and paired again. Well I've done my final Entune "re=pairing."

Some have complained about resolution of the different map Apps and in general, which gave me some reservation, but reviews on this thread helped make my final decision. We don't plan on running any videos, and I see Waze just fine, when you get on the highway, it drops a lot of the smaller side streets from the display if they aren't on your route. But as soon as you slow down or "come into a town", every roadway comes into clarity. And it looks amazingly stock - like it came with the truck.

Finally, I feel like my truck is complete. So for anyone else perusing this thread and thinking about this system, the screen quality is just fine if you don't plan on running videos. While the wiring looks daunting (see the pic), it really wasn't too difficult, just make sure you follow instructions closely and the FiveStar audio youtube install video of this unit is also very helpful. If you can operate a socket wrench and connect wires, the install is pretty simple.Screen Shot 2020-02-09 at 9.34.41 AM.jpg QDEtRNenSb68vM+tzrSB8Q.jpg ypclP4EGQDOKv8Lmef%Ffg.jpg

Does anyone know if you can hookup rear headrest monitors with this unit? I don't see the video out in the schematic diagram.
