Recently had my xds 45 stolen and now am looking for a new carry gun. At first I was certain I was going to pick up a sig 938. Small and easy to carry but then I started looking at the G43x and the Sig p365. I know there is another thread on the 365 but I didn't want to hijack his thread. I'm wondering if any of you have shot both of these guns or better yet carry both of them and can offer a comparison. I liked the grip on the sig alot but I've been reading about some issues with reliability of the 365. I know, I know, pluses and minuses to both and you can't seem to get a gun that has it all. Anyways...thoughts and reviews would be greatly appreciated!

When I look for a new firearm and get down to the nitty gritty, I find a store with a range and shoot them. Can't argue with the way they feel.

i think there were issues with the earlier p365,but tons of guys are doing 1k, 2k, 3k, 5k round reviews on them now, with minimal to no issues. You can’t really go wrong with either brand, IMO, this coming from a person who didn’t like early Glocks, but was recently converted with a gen 4 G34. As mentioned above, may be best for you to shoot both and see which one you like better. I know I’ve gone into gun shops convinced I was going to buy a gun, shot it, then hated it. Even if it does cost you $40-$50, cheaper than buying one and then not being able to sell it.

Both good pistols, gen 1 on the Sig P365 did concern me a little it’s issues. Since corrected. Sig has a smaller purchase or grip for my large hands. I passed on both and kept my G43 with an extended mag. Really boils down to what your happy with, it’s your money.

New issue...the 365 doesn't have any safety at all?! That concerns me a little since I have kids...

I love my 365. 43x doesn’t really interest me too much. It’s too big to pocket carry. I would rather have a 19 if I’m going to carry it on my belt.

Did glock fix the issue with the 43x’s shooting left? I know sig fixed the issue with their recall. The sig shoots nice, the glock is a glock. Both shoot nice, sig shoots better out of the box per usual of sig.

I’ve got a 43 on the way. Not the X version. They shoot solid, great carry guns.

That Sir is a BADD ASS weapon. I need one, but too many pistols and for some dumb A$$ reason my wife did an inventory on all of them.

the Sig 365 is a great gun. Especially with 12 round extended mag. Trigger on the 365 makes my Glocks trigger feel old and outdated. I vote 365.

I would agree you need to shoot both before you decide. If you are used to an xds the 43x is going to be harder to conceal due to the longer grip. I opted for the regular G43 but I shoot glocks well and I can hide that gun in a T-shirt. I don’t have any experience with the sig but it’s an attractive gun with the size and capacity.

The Sig stands out for capacity to me, due to being kind of in the middle ground between a pure single stack and double stack. Able to get into about the same narrowness range as the 43 but 10+1. I have shot one once. A complaint that is common that I agree with, though it didn't seem that big of a deal to me, was balance. Felt top heavy, whereas something like my Glock 26 feels more balanced. Glocks generally feel better and more solid in your hand, but the Sig trigger is better and the packaging is a win. I would definitely consider the 365 as a concealed carry option except I'm so comfortable with my glock and I don't have enough of a concealability issue to blow money on something else right now. With a good IWB I can carry the 26 in the summer in a loose T-shirt without a problem. Only someone looking for it would see what could be the butt of a gun or the outline of a cell phone case it if I moved a certain way. 365 would probably disappear completely carried the same way.

Loving the 365XL. I shoot it better than my MP 2.0 compact, and it’s much thinner/lighter.
