What’s your thoughts? I never really liked the running boards on the Tundra.

Welcome! Everybody has their own unique and personal taste. I think your truck looks better without the running boards. Great looking truck!

I've never liked running boards, especially the first silver metal ones you would see back in the day. They looked like they were made out of sheet metal siding. To this day, I still see those whenever I look at running boards. Now, nerf or rock rails with steps, that's a whole different animal. Keep the running boards off. Sweet ride btw.

I actually like the running boards, i kept mine on, definitely one of the reasons why i purchased a limited... when i look at double cab first gen’s without the running boards, it always looks like something is missing to me... to each their own!

Likewise, I prefer without the running boards - cleaner lines in my opinion.

I LOVE that blue! Very sharp looking, for sure. I couldn't pass my truck up when it came time to purchase a Tundra, and for many reasons. But I would have jumped much higher and quicker had she been that shade of blue.

Eh... I would keep 'em if they were already on. If they weren't already on I'd probably not put much thought into it.

Truck looks just as good with them as it does without out them. Yeah, not much help here, but either way looks good.

I've never been a fan, but I know some short women that appreciate them so I put a set on my '07 ... I can't find a set for my '02.

I prefer them off, but I have to leave mine on as my wife is on the shorter side and she needs the step to get in and out easily. Nice truck btw...our trucks are almost twins.

With the title, I thought if you were asking if we liked Gen 1's.

But ya, your truck looks good either way. Great color.

Take those running boards off and throw them as far away from the truck as you can!

Mine didn’t have them when I bought my 2002, but I put a set on so my wife could get in and out of the truck easier.

    Looks good without.

I just added these (Toy OEM accessory made for the earlier 2000-04 AC 1st Gens) after not having any for many years.

Best I have right now is this shot right after finishing. I’ll do a full modeling exposé next week to start the new portfolio with a direct side shot. I want to visit where I took some of last years photos for an apples to apples look/angle on the changes made from that time.

Not too obtrusive, while protecting the rocker panels...I do like it. There, but almost not there, being more subtle than the rest of the options I've seen available. I see it as an addition and not a detraction.

I've taken mine off every truck I've ever bought - like a mini instant lift kit as was stated above... My 06 DC came with Stainless nerf tube bars with steps and they weren't too bad looking but I like it better with them off.

I like the look without them. I also hate them on mine, but bad knees make me keep them around.

One day I'd like to replace them with some sliders that can do both.
