I know some of you may have the SPod system for running your lights/devices, but there is a much more budget friendly way to enable hook up the lights and not run wires into the cab!
I like the fact the I can bring the switch into the tent or wherever and turn on the lights... just in case

Looks great! I have one concern...what is the draw with it being connected to the battery full time? I'm worried taht if the truck was left say at an airport in the dead of winter (sub 15 degrees), would I be screwed with a dead battery? Looks great nonetheless; very clean install!

Thanks! According to the manual, the draw shouldn't deplete the battery if left for about a week. If I had it parked for longer, I would probably just disconnect the yellow wire from the battery terminal (just takes a 10mm socket/wrench to loosen and remove)

I don’t know if it’s the same concept, but my rock lights are controlled through Bluetooth on my phone. I’ve left it over a week while on vacation with no issues.

Nice! I actually considered this, but wanted the ability to control the lights from outside the truck (like in my tent or by the campfire). I also dont need more than 4 switches and this was less than half the cost, and I didnt need to run any wires in the cab, so I went with this. This also has a bluetooth app that controls dimming as well. I love the SPod concept though

Nice set up! You need to upgrade your battery. That factory Toyota battery is going to leave you stranded with a constant draw like that. I know you say it isn't much but those batteries suck. There are a lot of people who haven't even got 2 years out of theirs.

I went pretty cheap but they work fine. Had them in for about a year and a half.

I also used this harness. It has a switch, but I just leave it turned on and tucked under the hood.

I’m sure there’s better stuff out there, but I didn’t want them bad enough to spend a lot of money. They’re just a neat toy to show off every now and then.

I have the Odyssey in my wish list. Do you have any recommendations? I heard about the weak Toyota batteries many times, so changing it out is definitely on top of my list.

Mine just died last week and I was going to get this one from batteries plus. Its made by Northstar. However, Toyota replaced it free under warranty so I will wait until this one dies. I have learned to keep a lithium jumper in my truck just in case. It saved my bacon last week. I had no warning signs. One day the battery worked and the next it was totally dead. Luckily it was still able to take a jump.

Thanks for the link! Just saved it in my browser.

How old is the battery that died? Did you have anything installed that drew power 24/7?
I currently have the switches and dash cam hooked directly, and am wondering maybe if it's too much now

It was the original battery so only 2 years old. I don't have anything extra connected to it. No lights or anything. My last car had a stereo system in it and the extra draw from the amp killed my factory battery in short order.

Thanks for putting out the video. After watching it several times I got the impression that the unit looked toyish, especially the remote, and may not be built very robustly. Krokem, as you are hands on, do you feel like this unit will withstand several years of the abuse I know you will be putting it through? If so this is the perfect solution for me as the price difference compared to other units will cover a set of ditch lights and brackets.

Also on that note, are you happy with your Cali raised ditch light brackets after some use?

    Appreciate the beta.

The power module itself is actually very robust and sturdy. The housing is made of metal, and the fit/finish did not look or feel cheap at all (in person, IMO).
My main concern is the quality of the remote control, as it is entirely made of plastic. But with that said, I still "pulled the trigger" (har har) on this and bought it because of the ease of install (I dpnt have deep mechanical or electrical wiring knowledge), and the relatively low price compared to any other remote power management system out right now. Those reasons, combined with what I perceive to be high quality craftsmanship, made it a no-brainer for me.

If any issues arise, I will definitely create a follow up video to give everyone a heads up, of course. But right now, this system is awesome

    Almost forgot, the cali raised ditch light brackets appear fine for now, but I initially had an issue with how they shipped them. It came poorly packaged and there were scuffs on the metal. I emailed them and they sent a better packaged set. See 2 minutes in on this video;

Hi Edward, I love your videos and truck, as a result I bought the trigger 4 shooter for my 13 Tundra. I know you changed the place of that yellow wire. I was thinking of tapping into the ignition fuse. Any ideas if that's a bad idea?
