More than I care to remember what I told my wife I paid for
You can send your original steering wheel. I paid the $650 for a new steering wheel (or maybe a slightly used one) that came the way you see it. Call SDHQ and see what options you can use. I was charged a core charge and I believe I had 14-30 days to return my factory steering wheel to get my core charge deposit returned.

Just a heads up, I was able to sell my plastic steering wheel on ebay for $200. Since I got my leather steering wheel for $300, net roughly 100 bucks more for a vastly better feeling steering wheel.

I ended up purchasing a 2016 4runner wheel for $315. Paid a little more for the great condition it was in. Im thinking I will take it in to a upholstery shop to get the exact string and color as TRD Pro stitching. I’ll use that and sew exact pattern found on stock wheel.

The DIY wrap, SDHQ, and Vivid Racing sewing is no where near the quality of the stock sewing. The string is A LOT thinner and the sewing pattern just looks unprofessional. I’ll post pictures of the finished product.

    Update:
So after taking into an upholstery and a separate tailor shop, both shops told me I should leave the steering wheel as is with black factory nylon stitching. They explained that once they remove factory stitching anything they put afterwards wont be as good of quality and they cant guarantee the workmanship on the stitching. This explains why neither SDHQ or VividRacing dont offer any warranty on their work either. So I opting to leave the 4 Runner steering wheel as is with black stitching. Overall I enjoy the leather feel over the plastic steering wheel which was bound to fading before a leather steering wheel.

I also purchased a 2016 4Runner wheel. While swapping over the steering wheel guts, I found that the 4Runner wheel has a weight connected to the bracket responsible holding the cables in place. Its the bracket which the cables tuck under to stay in place. Anyways I noticed the Tundra bracket does not have a weight. I opted to put use the Tundra weightless bracket instead of the one which came with the 4Runner steering wheel.

Now it may just be psychological but I feel as if the 4Runner steering wheel feels lighter when compared to the plastic Tundra steering wheel. I searched online but didnt find a clear answer on the purpose of this weight on the 4Runner wheel. Are these weights on the 4runner wheel important?

I have this and really enjoy it. Great quality, thicker than stock, and nice leather. Has held up great so far (four months or so)

I was looking at changing my crappy steering wheel in my 19 Tundra TRD Pro with a Steering Wheel from a 19 TRD Pro 4RUNNER so I contacted my friend who works at one of the Toyota dealerships here in Portland. I told him that I wanted a Steering Wheel for a 19 TRD Pro 4RUNNER and he gave me the part number and price for the Steering Wheel and a separate price for the air bag. I told him I didn’t need the air bag part because the Tundra air bag is the same. Has anybody encountered any problems installing a 4RUNNER Steering Wheel in a Tundra using the original air bag?

I just installed a 2016 4Runner steering wheel in my 2016 Tundra TRD Pro like 2 weeks ago and it accepts everything from the original Tundra steering wheel. The air bag falls perfectly in place. I recommend you watch this video before replacing it.
    https://youtu.be/xOX_6E5pZYI

I will say I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend that after you park and shut off truck, that you turn and lock the steering wheel prior removing it. With the airbag off, use a fine print marker to mark the center of axis and the teeth on the steering wheel. When it come to installing the 4runner steering wheel, you will be 100% sure its exactly where it should be. It will make sense once you take apart

TRD Pro is the biggest ripoff on any model. They add some cool looking stuff but not worth the money they want for it.

My 16 Pro came with the urethane wheel. Leather is nice, but my hands are not always clean after working/wheeling. Urethane is much less maintenance.

Yep, for the life of me I can't understand why Toyota doesn't put the leather wrapped steering wheel in the Tundra Pro. Heck, I had a nice leather wrapped wheel in my 2016 Tacoma TRD OR. The wheel in my PRO just feels "cheesy" and cheap. At first it didn't bother me because I was so excited to finally be in a Tundra Pro, but now I wish I had that leather wheel. May end up doing the DIY leather wrap with red stitching. WrongwayUp has a really good and detailed video of that installation with his son.

I went with this one and so did a few other members but I cannot find the thread on it. I went with all leather $475 US shipped

possibly for the right price...I’m in Canada though so shipping probably not cheap to US
