12volts Plug & Play remote start groupbuy!

Have a 17 Limited with the alarm and glass break sensor. Install was pretty easy. Programming took a few tries, but I got it. Didnt hook up the key sense wire, but I didnt let it run 15 mins either. No alarm issues and locks after it starts.

Try letting it run the full 15 mins until it shuts itself off. It may set off the factory alarm in which case you'd need to connect the sense wire.

 

Alarm issue won't show up unless you wait 15mins for the truck to turn itself off or turn remote start off manually by clicking the remote 3 more times.

 

Mine is not locking either on my 19 after starting engine. Ran a new orange wire and removed James wire tap and have not had the horn issue after starting so i can only assume it was an issue with his splice.

 

Getting a little nervous myself. Is this going to void my warranty? 2019 SR5 CM

 

probably as much as having a stereo shop install it for you.

 

I did do a remote shut off and that didnt activate the alarm. It'll most likely never do the full 15 minute cycle so the alarm shouldnt be an issue.

 

Remove the module before taking it in for warranty work

 

Also having issues with the alarm going off. My harness has the tap for the orange wire; not sure if that has something to do with it. Kinda sucks but maybe we can get a fix soon.

As soon as I saw the harness with the quick tap I started questioning it. I should've just soldered it when it was still out of the truck.

 

That is what I did. It seems to have taken care of it. I have been testing it through the day. Crappy part was that they put the tap so close to the connector making it hard to work with.

 

Yup the tap is very close to the connector. Also I believe it's a blue quick splice...so It's also possible it's the wrong gauge/size , either way quick splices suck.

 

Can someone help me I'm not sure where the black n white remote starter wire connect to the white t-harness wire ?

Mine gets here today as well, somewhat apprehensive about this after reading the struggles of the '18 & '19 owners. I have a 2019 Limited Quicksand, hoping to not have a whole bunch of issues

 

Solder the orange wire to the harness as soon as you get it. Don't even mess with the quick splice.

 

Ordered on 12 Aug, received on 26 Aug, and installed in about an hour. Seems to be fine but like others, the drivers door is not locking back on remote start.

 

Email James so at least he keeps getting reports of this issue to keep count

 

Same here, just finished install, works as desired, however door fails to lock. I'm wondering if this will even be fixable without having to pull the module and send it back in

About to install the mycar thing, fingers crossed it keeps working!

Here's the scoop guys...for those with alarm problems. The issue is not necessarily with the quick tap, it's an issue with the connector. When you plug in the connector to the quick tap, the wire can deflect to one side. The orange wire/shiney braided wire part needs to go directly in the center of the female recepticle(through the hole if possible..it'll make it easier to plug in). If it's not going through the center you need to get a small screwdriver and push it as close to the metal center tab as you can. The connector for the orange wire does not pierce it and too much sheath was left on the wire to make any contact.

The wire isn't making any contact in the last image. You need to hook the wire through the metal hole if possible so that it stays contacting the connector as you plug it in. Otherwise it's probably going to deflect to one side...it's a tight fit.

 

Anyone else have their truck just crank without starting? It would crank for about 5 seconds, stop and try again.

Eventually it did start once but then I couldn’t shut it off until disconnected the battery.

Is yours relocking after starting the vehicle?

 

No; that's an ongoing issue. When my orange wire was buggered up the doors actually did lock after remote start but alarm was going off. Now that it's fixed, the doors no longer lock after remote start.

James is working on it; Fortin changed something.

 

if your truck is not locking back and you have a free moment tomorrow please call fortin tech support this will help me greatly speed up the software fix, 18773367797 is the tech support for fortin and I am not passing the problem to them even though it is their problem you are still my customer and at the end of the day I will make sure you are taken care of . but this will show them there is a problem

 

I believe its a software issue

 

Is there a way I can check if I have the glass break sensor? I know I have the alarm from the window sticker, but I haven't seen anything (even looking at my initial paperwork when I bought it) about the glass.
