I have been negotiating with a dealer a hundred or so miles away that has a CPO '19 with <6k on the clock...have him down to $46.5k. MSRP was $53,842. They sold the truck originally to a guy who lost his job and traded it in on a Camry. It's been on their lot for over two months.

What do you think? Still on the fence because I can get a new platinum for $44k. First world problems....

Are you financing? What interest rate on the CPO PRO, compared to new? The used one might cost you more...

I am financing and that is part of the consideration. I will be going through one of the two credit unions that I am a member of. Heard USAA will give new car loans for used ones with less than 7k.

Caveat emptor. Not that I think all dealers are liars or shady, then again, trust but verify. Are you sure that the truck isn’t a good will buy back or something? I’d ask for the Carfax and also ask for a print out of all the warranty work / repair orders by VIN.

Nice - then you have to decide between a new Platinum or a used Pro. The price difference will be negligible. Personally... at that price... I’d probably buy new. The Pro is sweet tho! Imagine the hit the last owner took it the dealership is letting it go for $46K... they’re probably making at least $2500.

I would get the platinum instead, then add mods to your own liking. I'm sure you will not regret it.

I love the PRO but knew I would regret buying something that didn’t have ventilated seats and a sunroof. As such I bought a platinum and made it a platinum Pro.

    Zero regrets.

That truck will sell at that price, especially this time of year. I figure $500-$1000 less is the absolute price floor a dealer would let that go for.

Certified Pre-Owned carries a much better warranty though 6 years or 60,000 miles. Bumper to Bumper! That’s pretty handy! And a true pro , will also hold more value in the long run as well!
    Just sayin

Sorry to say I paid close to that for my new Pro over a month ago. Have them come down on the CPO one or kick in a grand or 2 and get a new one. Remember they are in business to sell them not collect them. The end of the month is coming and they have sales goals to hit

Remember too, if you’re on the fence of buying a new one for only a little more means everyone else looking at it will be too....they will deal a little to get the used one off their lot

Don’t forget APR usually better on a new vs CPO

Go with the interior luxury over exterior appearance. Two years from now you will be glad. And you can add some Bilstein 6112s and 5160s. Do a three inch lift and add some tires and get the look you want exactly because you can choose the wheels and tires YOU want. And roll around without sweatyballz.

I've done all of that before with a 4Runner Offroad Premium. Fox/Eibach lift, wheels/tires, etc. etc. At the end of the day when I traded it in, it was worth no more than a vanilla 4runner. If I would have sprung for the TRD Pro at the beginning I would have lost less.

The Pro has a sunroof. I have vented seats now and don't consider that a deal breaker. I still plan to haggle more...

I paid 45k for a 2017 with 20k miles about 2 months ago. It was the only one in the area and I was happy with the price. If you can get a 19' for a similar price that is awesome.

Wait until Saturday, the last day of the month. Dealerships will be hungry for sales to help meet the August sales quota.

Correct, but if you finance via TFS, you can negotiate the rate. When I bought my 2018 (CPO), I had gone in for a new one. Dealer desperately wanted to sell my CPO with 8k miles that had been on the lot for a while, so I told them me buying it was contingent on enough cost savings on the front end, but also on the back end with financing to justify it over a new one. They played ball.

Or lower. They are starting to offer some decent discounts in DFW area on Pros. I think the 2019s are moving slower than planned.
