I wasn't sure what size SumoSprings I should go with. I saw they come in three different sizes:

    • Spring Capacity: 1000 lbs.
    • Spring Capacity: 1500 lbs.
    • Spring Capacity: 2800 lbs.
My trailer has a hitch weight of 605 lbs, dry weight of 5680 lbs, GVWR of 7,350 lbs, and a cargo weight of 1670 lbs. Thanks in advance.

    I went with the 1500lbs

Toyhauler dry weight of 6600, Loaded I'm around 8000.

They work perfect and handle well unloaded. I personally wouldn't got with the 2800.

Hey guys. Do you find these things are worth the money? My truck has some bad squat when I load our little 19ft trailer and boat on so I’m hoping to fix that with these?
I’m confused how the weights work though? Wouldn’t for a 3000lbs trailer we need to use the yellow 2800lbs sunosprings? Any advise would be awesome. Thanks

I had the 1000lb ones on my Tacoma. I put them on this past May. They made the truck ride very stiff but I left them on because I towed alot. Two days ago I trade the Tacoma for a Tundra. I ran home with the Tacoma and stripped them off before I gave the truck to the dealership. I might put them on the Tundra ( same ones fit both Tacoma and Tundra ). Waiting till I actually tow with the Tundra to see If i'll use them. Very easy to install and take off. They work great for their purpose but like I said the stiffened up the Tacoma.

Pariverpirate I did the same thing. I ended up adding them to the tundra and now I will be going to airbags since my trailer just got bigger.

So I put mine on the tundra this week. Still havnt got the camper out yet with it , but I will next week. Liked the fact that the 1000lbs ones were not touching without anything in the bed. Hasnt changed the daily ride at all as of yet.

So here is the new Tundra with my camper. I have the 1000lb Sumo springs on the Tundra. Took it for a test drive tody through the back roads. Drove like the camper wasnt even there while in Tow Mode. With Tow Mode off it still towed well but you could feel the tug on the engine.

Do you have a lift/leveling kit on your truck? Or is it stock? Thanks!

So I went with the 2800 sumosprings because the truck is mostly only used to tow. They make contact even when unloaded and First impressions are; my poor back! very jagged driving and can feel every bump in the road. I’m sure they’re going to work great when I tow but wasn’t expecting them to make the ride as rough as it is. I’d recommend going one of the lower weighted ones and may be looking at changing them out.

Wow man, I hope you were able to get those swapped out. You should have researched it more beforehand. I installed the BLUE 1000's on a TRDOR Tacoma and they were great. Only time I knew they were back there was after hooking the boat up. And then it rode really good. Still trying to decide now between the Sumo's or Air Bags for my Tundra PRO, or just leave it alone.

I swapped out the blue Sumo's I had on my tacoma to my Tundra. They work great. Dont feel them when Im not towing and make the towing easier.

Well I slipped when I traded my Tacoma for the Tundra. I should have removed the Sumo's and reinstalled the old bump stops. I forgot all about them until the next day. DANG IT !!!

I almost did the same thing. I was handing them the keys to the tacoma and realized it. I told them I had to run home real quick to clean some stuff out of the tacoma and switched them out. Took me about 10 minutes, lol.

Yeah they were returned the very next day. I’ll be getting blue ones in the spring. Only bought the yellow cause they were on sale, lesson learnt haha

Now that I think about it, I'm glad I didn't take the Sumo's off my old Tacoma. The ones I had on there were the SSR-612-40 rated at 500 LBS which have 4 rolls of rebound. The ones for the Tundra are SSR-610-40 rated at 1000 LBS and have 5 rolls of rebound. The ones for Tacoma rated at 1000 LBS are black and still have 4 rolls. So, the ones I had on my Tacoma would have been too short to work properly.
