Greetings fellow Tundra owners. Getting to appreciate my new-to-me 2004 SR5 4x4 Mica Green. But first a true story.

Purchased a Toyota T100 in 1997. Absolutely no mechanical issues for 22 years and 302K miles even though I performed all maintenance. Three weeks ago a landscape truck and trailer lost control on wet two lane curve and plowed into the front killing the T and most of my left side. While I was in trauma center my son found this 64K mile beauty that we refer to as T100 v2.0. See attached pics.

We fully expect to keep this Tundra for at least 22 years also ;-). Therefore I'm looking to perform the following mods and welcome any and all advice.

    - Replace head unit with Apple Carplay and backup camera compatible unit.

    - Add dash cam with front and rear recording.

    - Optimize suspension for towing our 20ft 3200lb center console boat. Tundra has tow package, stability and limited slip. Everything else is stock. Would it help to upgrade shocks or use stiffer springs?

    - Other must-have mods will be considered. I'm 54 yo so performance and exhaust not high on my list. Wife is agriculture consultant and will use 4WD regularly. We live in central Florida.

Thanks for letting me join the community and learn from the wealth of knowledge here. I look forward to driving and wrenching when my three month recovery is finished.

    Best regards,

    Brad

Holy hell man. Glad you made it out alive!

Amazing you found a jewel like that so quickly, and a color you seem to enjoy.

Thanks for the warm welcome and well wishes.

One piece of advice from this traumatic experience: Please seriously consider uninsured motorist coverage on your insurance policy. The landscape truck was not insured and all my medical bill$$$,$$$ will be paid by my insurance. Having uninsured coverage is the only thing saving me from financial ruin. One in four autos in Florida are completely uninsured.
