Would you guys compare this a huge upgrade Compared to my Kenwood ddx9903s? It's been flawless ever since it was installed.

Can someone please give me the "for dummies" version of how to view the front facing camera once installed? Is a separate app required, or is there one easy button to hit to get the front view?
    Thanks for any info

Awesome-thank you. Does that just mean one press of the screen to turn it on? I'm trying to figure out if it's convenient enough that I would actually use it. If I have to open the app, go through a menu, and waste a bunch of time, I may not bother installing the camera.

Purchased one last week for a 2010 Tundra CM. Should get here this week! Hope to have it in before hunting season.

I'm not sure what the problem is. It's super easy. You push the f cam button on the screen and the front camera opens. There is no setup for it. It works in park or even while your driving down the road. It reads the input on the harness labeled f cam.
Also camera installation takes only about 20 min. Hardest part is getting through the firewall.

Perfect, thanks. There's no problem; I ordered the head unit, but haven't received it yet. I had nothing to look at and see how the operation worked. I'll definitely install the extra camera now that I know it's this easy to activate.

No worries. I just made a quick video and I'm uploading to YouTube now. I'll post it in a few minutes. I just installed mine less than 12 hrs ago. I don't know my way around it just yet. But so far it's amazing. Much better than I thought it would be.

Apologies for the kids. My day off and wife had to run to work for a few hrs.

Edit: my son just told me I sound like a cowboy. Lol.

What are the chances I could get you to take a photo of your steering wheel keys? I managed to get volumes, skip forward and back to work. But, not sure which icon is the correct one for the camera app, etc.

    Tip of the day.

The majority of the creaking and rattling is coming from the screen itself. Push down on the back of the screen a little and listen to that creak.

    WARNING MAY VOID YOUR WARRANTY.

Remove the screen from the unit. Remove the 5 small screws from the back. Gently pry the back off the screen. Place some dense foam between the screen and the back to prevent creaking. I used some left over jet ski traction mat I had laying around. Reassemble and enjoy the significantly reduced creaking.

Update: Drove to work this morning and the creaking is pretty much gone. The creaking was the one thing that bugged me about it.

Dumb question for you android pros. How are you rebooting the unit? Like a clean reboot. Not a power down and return from standby.

Like watching the android splash screen etc... lol

    That one pictured is nes.emu
I also use neo.emu and mame4droid installed on this unit. This is obviously not a full emulator setup, I only installed a few ROMs for killing time when I pick up my son from school. I usually use arcbrowser as a frontend for emulators though.

For now I'm just using standby mode for super quick startup. I've only had mine installed for less than 2 days now and everything is super smooth. Once I start getting issues and need to reboot I'll get back to you on it :thumbsup:

Also this unit does not recognize my 8bitdo controller as a controller. I have to use USB for it to work. Not really a big deal but of course I'd rather have it wireless :notsure:

The cheap Amazon controlers work great. Ran the dual usb to glovebox. I use Snes9x.

It is. And it's very nice. If you watch the video I posted it rotates just fine. But the way the dash kit fits it won't pivot left or right as it's to snug. It does slide up and down perfectly fine though.

I figured out how to connect carplay wirelessly with this unit in case someone else is looking to do the same.

-First you go to WIFI on your phone, you should see an access point named Android follows by a bunch of numbers, connect to that. That will connect your phone to the Dasaita head unit.
-Next, launch Zlink app on the Dasaita, that should connect and take you straight to carplay.
-Next time around, the phone's WIFI will automatically connect to the unit, you just launch Zlink to get to CarPlay

The TPMS module is really just a can bus adapter. they always come with it, but as far as i can tell TPMS only works on 18+ Trucks where you can already see the TPMS in the cluster. I couldnt get TPMS to work on my 14 or 15 with either Tesla or Dasaita.

Anyone know if there is a dash cam app for these things? I would like to plug in a USB camera into it and run a dash cam app if that makes sense.

Got mine installed! 2010 Tundra Crewmax. Couple things:

    1. I am not sure whether they included the CAN adapter... everything works, sounds great, steering wheel controls work, etc., but I had three plugs or so left over from the head unit. One of them being a fiber optic looking connection?
    2. Finding that USB plug under the glove box wasn't too bad, but it's definitely hidden. Take the kick panel out from the passenger side and it's up there (picture 2). See the reviews in the Amazon item for someone's write up. (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00EAYYQDO/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_HdgyDb79B8VGX). I wanted to keep my stock USB plug.
    3. Waiting to see if it drains battery (another member here had this issue).
    4. Would like the Bluetooth to pull in phone information like recent calls, favorites, etc.
    5. Possibly keep the aux port working. Haven't tried it but I assume it doesn't. I'd like to connect that to aux input harness in the back.

Baby woke up, will play with the unit later. Dad duty calls...

Does the USB plug location apply to 2017's?? Also about how long did you spend installing this? I'm trying to do mine between Daddy duties too!

Did it during a 2 hour baby nap... It really wasn't hard but at the same time I'm somewhat experienced. I think there will be a little customization to do but so far everything works.

I think the USB plug may be the same for both truck generations, since the 2014+ guys are buying the same USB adapter.
