After a great evening out with my wife and friends, I got back to find my baby with her driver side mirror housing gone and the mirror itself dangling. I even folded it in after I parked. There are some minor scrapes / smudges along the body... but they can be buffed out... after some quick inter web searches and you tube watching... I decided it would be cheaper to order a mirror assembly and install it myself than it would be to get insurance involved... probably would not meet deductible anyway... so I ordered a mirror assembly from Rock Auto. I'll keep you guys posted on quality and fit / finish. Also keep you posted on the install.

But the fuck$r ruined a perfectly good evening. Asshole. Could have been worse, I guess...

I hope karma comes round and trashes something that jerk loves. People with no respect for others property angers me greatly.

I actually caught someone doing exactly this to someone else's truck a few years ago. I copied the license plate number of the perp & description of him & his vehicle. I placed it under the driver's side windshield wiper to be sure the owner wouldn't miss it. I had to make a wide circle around the parking lot to get out, and saw the owner just as he reached the truck & examine the damage as he opened his door, I stopped from about 200' away & saw the look of get even satisfaction on his face when he read my note, from that look you just know he reported it to police & eventually went after the guy in small claims court somewhere.

Right?! If I did something like that to someone's car / rig, not only would I feel terrible about it, I would certainly own up to it...

After sleeping on it... perspective is a good thing... this could have been WAY worse... I'm really lucky as they were just inches or less from tearing up the whole side of my truck. Time to grab some duct tape.... o_O

Oh yeah. I'm sure you don't feel lucky right now, but that was just about the best case scenario. Could have been so much worse.

What happened to them?.........well they are driving something that legally shouldn't be on the road, don't have insurance and you are probably paying for everything they have now.

That sucks. Some schmuck hit the front of my Acura and the entire front is now 1/8-1/4 of an inch shifted towards the passenger side. I've got a gap by the panel and bumper and the headlights have a gap around them. I notice it every time I wash the car. I applaud you for your great attitude and hope the fix removes all evidence of what happened. I still want the big bird of karma to dump a wet green turd on the person that did that.

I received my mirror assembly 1 day earlier than anticipated... ordered on Friday night/ Saturday morning and arrived Thursday ( was told it would arrive on Friday). Install took about 45 minutes... could have been faster, but there were some butt pucker moments when pulling the door panel off that I wasn't sure how much force to apply... AND there was this one little fastener in the mirror assembly that was a bit stubborn to let loose. BUT... if you have basic skills, you can do this yourself. Sorry for no pictures... limited time to get the job done, and given my age, I forget about modern technology... anyway.. the replacement mirror went in without a major hitch. As for the quality from Rock Auto... the exterior looks like OEM stuff. Everything works as far as power adjustments... haven't had the opportunity to test the defrost mode yet. BUT... the mirror itself has some kind of whoopdie do in it... kind of like a ripple. Not enough for me to send it back for the price I paid.... but enough to notice.... I can still see everything I need to in the mirror.... but it's not perfect... shivermetimbers... if I'd have known... I would have thrown my business your way. Next time no knee jerk reaction!!
