Installed a TRD rear sway bar on my 13 crewmax today.AWESOME HANDLING!!!!! If you don't have the rear sway bar then you don't know what you are missing! Should have done this mod a year ago. Truck handled completely different. Solid in the turns and doesn't throw you around.IMG_20190810_172503450.jpg

Is a sway bar helpful for offroading as well or is it more restrictive of flex? Wondering if it would help on wash boards also when the back of the truck bounces to the side when cornering.

I got the new drivers mirror installed this morning thankfully. AutoZone was able to get it overnight for me, with no freight costs. Not sure if that's typical but the service they provided was great.

We drove up to Denver on Friday in order to apply our company decals, reflective stickers and caterpillar badges on our recently painted complete rebuild 627G. We take these down to a bare frame and everything is rebuilt or replaced including hydraulic hoses, electrical, etc. Great way to learn every part of the machine and how it goes together. A new scraper is over around a million I'm told and we complete a rebuild for $200k. We've done 9 of them now as well as several D10s, 966 loaders, etc. Definitely proud to see it all done so thought I'd share

    In the "Zone"...
that belly looks way to clean. i remember blowing one of the the hydraulic lines off the scoop ram, fluid shot about 100 feet in the air and it was dead in the middle of the dessert Kuwait. trying to get those things loaded on a low boy was sketchy at best... we loaded three of them along with about twenty other construction vehicles up to Guernsey, Wyoming from Fort Carson took us 18 hours...

the predominant theme to that whole convoy was "if we hurry we can still make Cheyenne"... not at that rate we wouldn't... :turtleride:

Most "off-roaders" do not run with the sway bar. Some have and remove to off-road. Too restrictive? Yes.

Today I deployed a few of my trucks nannies when I was forced to brake really hard at 55 mph and swerve on a narrow two lane in order to avoid hitting the good size buck that decide it was safe to cross, we missed each-other. He turned around, and I continued on my way. I looked in my rear view, and the buck was crossing in front of the truck coming up behind me - that driver was flying but slowed down after seeing my emergency maneuver. Nobody got hurt, and all is well.

I am making a bracket to mount the monitor for the observation camera on my trailer. Bolts are just there to align the holes while I make it. I will be mounting threaded inserts into the grille and use wingbolts to secure the bracket when it is in use.
Harness is hardwired in and plug goes through the grille.

Unfortunately, I am having issues with the rear camera. As soon as it is plugged in, the front camera goes stupid. Wont record, nothing works. Unplug it and everything is fine.

What a long day:eek2:. Detailing truck and wifes car.
I'm about a 1 1/2 years into my ceramic coat. It was suggested that clay barring would not be needed. Double wash with the snow blaster (Mr. Pink) followed by Hydro 2, and then Wet Butter Wax. Interior done with Aerospace 360. Wheels and tires cleaned and detailed with P21-S and Wax Addict. All glass cleaned with Spray Away. I went back to original Rain X. I was not happy with the spray bottle , didn't last long.. I used my new Metro Vac N Blo for interior and blo drying outside areas. This vac kicks Ass.

I came across a write up about what to do when your tailights fog up. It was explained that the gaskets wear out and the fitment is not tight. For a quick fix take some petroleum jelly and apply it 360 around your gasket @bulbs. This creates a seal. It works:thumbsup:.

I had planned on installing LaminX on my fogs and headlights for protection . I went to remove old covers off my fogs and it left a thin layer of glue like substance, needless to say I decided not to install. Gonna replace fogs. I wouldn't recommend LaminX after dealing with that BS.

I'm digging my new wheels. Fuel Blitz D674. 18x9 +20 . I got lucky it's right at the cutoff as far as stick out.
I wanna give thanks to @driverdog , @SouthBoundSteve , and @War Machine for all the help with products and techniques.

Parked in a parking lot. Seriously, I was in Kamloops BC yesterday and it was brutal driving around with the truck. Although I was pulling the camper trailer most the time. Got lots of looks and a few comments on it. Fun to take it out of the elements some times haha.

Replaced my spark plugs with the Denso 90919-A1002 SK20HR11 Iridium spark plugs on my 5.7. Took a little over an hour to pull and replace. The rear ones were a bear because of location. But it saved me just over $200 by doing it myself. The plugs were $114 from the dealer. But replacing them every 100K, is better than sooner with an inferior plug. Truck is a little peppier and runs more like new since changing them.

I need to go get some aluminum to make the bracket, just been lazy.

To pop the grill, use a plastic pry bar and pop the edge by the HU up. Then push the pry bar down the sides towards the clock. There are 6 tabs (3 front, 3 back). If mounting something on the grill, there are some o shaped sections in the plastic that work well for getting alignment.

Got the fog light mod done and new speakers, that don’t sound as good as the stock, 6 1/2 and 5 1/2 inch my ass Rockford Fosgate. Guess a new receiver and a small under seat sub are next.

    One oddball plug? strange....

Yea new HU nets better results. Stock like 12 watts, many new are 50 watts. The new speakers are probably different Ohms than stock which I think will require more power. 2 Ohm vs. 4 Ohm
