I do have a small ladder but I feel like I'm going to fall lol. I've seen someone on here that uses a soft brush with a handle to reach areas just can't find it.

This is a little expensive, but works very well. I love it. There are cheaper versions I’ve tried, but the fabric part doesn’t work as well, and they break easily.

I would definitely recommend putting anti slip tape/grip tape on the top. Slippery when wet.

It's not perfect, the edges peel up a little on the larger pieces. The narrow strips seem to hold better. Horrible picture but you get the idea.

Waxaddict tyre feeder on the tonneau. Only took a few sprays. I normally use 303 every month or so and the tonneau is in great shape. figured I'd try this, it should last longer. I buffed it the best I could, but still worried itll run off in the rain.

I bet that festool is bad ass. They make really good stuff. But at that price I would just get a rupes. The torq unit for $100 is probably okay but you could get a porter cable for around that price and a griots for slightly more

I have a few festool in tool box, yes they are great tools. So the torq is just ok? I'll have to check out the griots, but I can get the festool for almost half price..

The Torq is ok, but for another 20 bucks you can get the Griots.

Griot's Garage 10813STDCRD 6" Dual Action Random Orbital Polisher with 10' Cord https://www.amazon.com/dp/B009UKUUWE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_8QyxDb5MP39JV

I have both, and the Griots blows the Torq out of the water. I don’t know anything about the Festool.

Both of the Festool polishers you showed are rotary polishers, not DA polishers. While a rotary is an effective tool, I'd not recommend it as your first polisher. They take some getting used to. As War Machine noted, the Griots 6" DA is a better choice than the TORQ, and comes with a lifetime warranty from a company that backs their products.

I saw a while back about getting tree sap off a truck. What was that product? I’m going to detail my old truck for a car show this weekend. Need to get the bugs off too. Used or new dryer sheets for that?

Earlier this summer I bought a used set of SCS Ray 10s. I thoroughly cleaned them and thought it might be a good idea to wax them. Wrong. I let it dry and removed the wax, or so I thought. Within a week they looked horrible. I tried everything to get off the wax residue. Dawn, rubbing alcohol, etc. Eventually I remembered I had a can of pre dip spray from plasti dip. Now they look great again.

My question is, does anyone put stuff on their wheels to protect the finish. If so, what do you use?

Have used Lucas Speed Wax with good results.

I like using hydro2 on wheels. Super easy to apply and it gets in every nook and cranny.
Reload also works. Both are spray sealants made by carpro.

I have also used optimum opti-seal and it works good to.

Any sealant with sio2 works well. I haven't tried wax and would probably discourage wax just because of how hot the wheels get. Compared to painted body panels.

A few companies make ceramic coatings for wheels, If I had fancy, expensive wheels I could do ceramic.

I hear good things about DLux, you could also try hydro2 on your wheels. It would be a good topper for the dlux coating too, I like using hydro2 for wheels cuz it gets into evey little nook and cranny.

I forgot about a recent walmart.com purchase that showed up today. I needed a spare booster car seat for my daughter so I added some cheapo detailing items to get free shipping.
Decided to try this eagle one wheel cleaner for plastic coated wheels, mine are plasti dipped so figured for about $4 I would try it. It doesnt foam like they say, it does an okay job of releasing brake dust, it does change color like ironx does, and smells bad too.
The sprayer sucks but it's possible it was damaged in shipping so I'll give it a free pass. I had a helper today too. I would say this is an average at best wheel cleaner that I won't buy again.
I also grabbed a gallon of purple power which does nearly the same job as far as cleaning minus the iron deposit dissolving. I re-upped my supply of stoner invisible glass and got a bottle of chem guys air freshener, the leather scent, it was cheap so I figured why not. It smells okay so I'll use it.

I've seen a review of a similar product from Eagle One in the same packaging, and the sprayer does suck....it was not damaged during shipping. The Youtuber in the video had a tough time getting coverage on the wheel.

Correct me if I am wrong and @War Machine you may have told me this or @Pudge but the GG is just a Porter Cable with a different handle? A PC was my first DA and I loved it. When my Rupes was stolen I didn't want to spend that money again so on calls information I was going to wait for a 20% off and get a GG

Side note I need to find a better black plastic restorer for exterior then what I was using. It was great but worked for like 3 days.

For wheels I use Sonax. I have for years and love it but it does smell something fierce

It wasn’t me, and I hadn’t heard that about the GG.

For a plastic restorer, I have two that outshine everything else by a long shot.

Solution Finish is absolutely the best at restoring extremely faded trim. It’s pretty much a black dye that will color it back to black like nobody’s business. It lasts a really long time before you have to use it again. It’s probably the one I’ve seen recommended the most on detailing forums.

Solution Finish Black Plastic & Vinyl Plastic Trim Restorer - Car and Truck Polish - 12 oz https://www.amazon.com/dp/B006NZRAFE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_RPJDDb9PNEB51

The other one I use is Shine Supply Trim Shield. It doesn’t restore severely faded trim as well as Solution Finish, but does work very well and has the added benefit of protecting trim from fading in the first place. It also lasts a very long time. It’s pretty expensive, but the bottle goes a long way. It doesn’t take much to get the job done.

    https://shinesupply.com/products/trim-shield

    Summary:

Solution Finish restores color better, Trim Shield protects better.

I’ve also heard really good things about Black Wow. I haven’t tried it, but do have some on order from Autogeek.

    Black Wow 4oz https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00144FZUG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_.3JDDbX5R8H71

I haven't heard that about the PC and griots, the specs are very similar. The griots has s lifetime warranty so I went with that one.
As far as trim restorer I'm with Jason. Solution finish is great, shine supply trim shield is good too but doesnt restore it as well. Shine supply does now make trim paint which is probably similar to the solutions finish. I have also heard good things about qtechniq permanent trim restorer.
