For some reason, of late, i have gotten away from using the sheeting method to dry my truck and just recently started doing it again. I have griots pfm drying towels, as well as TRC double twistress, and some cobra waffle weave guzzlers, and also a cordless blower that is great for wheels, grill, badges, mirrors, gas cap, door handles, and other small areas. Anyway, the more contact a towel makes with your paint, the greater the risk of scratches. The sheeting method is pretty damn cool and works best on horizontal surfaces like the hood and roof, but can be used to assist drying the sides of a vehicle as well. Sheeting water off a car greatly reduces the need to dry with towels therefore lowering the risk of the inevitable swirls from drying. I do not know for sure, but I do think that drying aids, and spray and dry "waxes" can still be used and be useful when sheeting water off your paint. It may not get rubbed onto the paint but it does still contact the paint and to me it seems to work. In fact using a drying aid seems to help water sheet even better. For anyone who doesn't know wtf I am talking about, I'll post up some videos showing how to do this. It's very easy once you figure out the proper hose/water stream strength that works. This is certainly not a groundbreaking discovery, in fact it's very common. I just wanted to post it up because I forgot all about it until just a few weeks ago, so maybe you have too. It's a huge time saver and paint saver.

Add a little Beadmaker and the vertical panels nearly dry themselves. Even the hood sheets water to almost dry. Beadmaker and Sheeting, like PB&J :)

You want to hear something funny? My wife got me two brand new PFMs and a CR Spotless for Christmas. After I tried the spotless for the first time I asked her “what’d you spend all that money on towels for?”

Awesome. Same thing here. I have a new unopened pack of the latest and greatest MF’s Santa brought back at Christmas unopened - in basement work shop. Wife was like, WTF with all the towels you asked for?!
