Oh yeah, we have our own thread. LOL.

GP is doing a pretty good impression of my home town in BC. Cool, windy and wet. Why is the weather never nice when I'm moving!?

Last 3 moves have been: blizzard (march), random snowfall (may) and blizzard (march again). You'd think moving in August I'd get some nice weather. But nnnnnoooooo. LOL

We just got home from Alberta yesterday. Visited the BIL / SIL in Calgary, helped demolish his old garage as he’s building a new one with suite above.

Took a day trip to Drumheller, visited the Calgary zoo with the boys.

Took the wife’s ‘15 Camry, filled up at Balzac Costco for 92.9 Tuesday and had almost 1/2 tank when we got home. Pretty sure I could go 900 km on a tank of highway driving.

I was just in BC as well in Sparwood Cranbrook area. Spent a night in Kimberly with friends and then drove back to Edmonton through the park. Pretty nice trip, but came at the end of a two week holiday so wife didn't want to stop anywhere in the park, we just burned right through. I also had a little fender bender, at a wedding some kids and bride in a golf cart clipped my drivers side rear bumper and then ran straight into my sisters car. My estimate was 2200, but I have opted to fix the bumper myself. They wanted $1200 to re-paint my rear fender where there was some scratches. I did feel a little bad for the bride (my aunty) but I took it to Ming AutoPro in Edmonton and they are going to buff the whole truck and do ceramic seal for $600ish which is a better bang for the buck in my opinion since there are other scratches in the fender that were not related to this golf cart adventure.

Hey! I’m always checking in. Just don’t have much to say most days, much to my wife’s chagrin...

Went to the range last week. Cold, rainy Monday morning. Not a soul there when we arrived and I didn’t expect to see another person there all day. A couple hours later, couldn’t believe what pulled in...

That's awesome. I love having the range to myself.

Since we're also talking gas prices, I gassed up at Costco in GP this morning and it was 94.9. When I was in Tumbler Ridge on Monday, the gas there was 137.9 :eek2:

I haven't really been looking. I'm focusing on finishing my firefighter school for now. Once that's done, I'm seriously considering starting a HVAC refigeration apprenticeship. Our landlord had a HVAC company in to look at our furnace the other day and I got to chatting with the guy. Turns out he owns the company and when he heard I'm considering the switch, he damned near offered me a job on the spot. LOL. So once I finish fire school, I'll get back in touch with him. I don't really want to start something new now and then in 2 months have to say "oh yeah, I need 2 weeks off to go to Texas for training."

But I'm pretty sure I won't be going back to welding. The refrigeration trade seems much more stable than welding, according to the guy I talked to the earning potential is higher without the bullshit required by the welding industry and it's way cleaner, easier work.

It is pretty nice when it works out that way!

Crazy how much the price of gas varies from region to region. I just filled up @ 96.9.

LOL. Could be! Buddy said he’d just bought it used. I didn’t ask what he’d paid... ;)

Nice! I’d agree, I could never weld full time. I enjoy fabricating, but I hate the fumes and grinding dust, and the feeling of big filthy hair I get every time.

Yeah, it's a disgustingly dirty trade. I'm tired of showering after work and having the water run black. I had to clean my shower at least once a week.

On another note, anyone here deal with Vivint security systems?

Just got this in from Krave in Calgary. @Dilsky @Joeler22 and I will be slapping these beauties on in a week or so.

Then I have some FN 17’ wheels and some 285/75 ko2 going on when I get it aligned. This truck is about to get 100x sexier.

I’ll be selling my 20” platinum wheels with rubber ASAP. Only have about 2000km on them.

You could def peddle up the logging road if you wanted. It’s probably a 8km ride up. Or the punch card for the shuttle. It’s well worth the value.

Put on some new suspension on @flinky14 truck this week. Elka's on all 4 corners with SPC UCAs up front and an Icon add-a-leaf in the rear. All went well but the add a leafs were a bit of a pain. As usual second side went faster than the first in the rear. I must say it was much nicer getting the bolts off her 2019 than it was getting them off my 2014 or my dads 2007....She was then on her way to Krave Automotive in Calgary for some new shoes to fill up the wheel wells!
