Went and played at the bike park today. Yay for loose gravel on a turn....

Not the worst injury I could imagine while riding park, but annoying I’m sure.

Yeah, it could have been alot worse especially if I had been hitting larger jumps. Even the mid sized jumps are already pushing the capability of my Rockhopper. I really need to upgrade.

Of course when I got home I dug out my old armor and full face helmet. May need to upgrade all that too since I'm sure there's way better stuff on the market now too.

Do you remember what the length of the tracks were that you used? I'm planning on doing this setup soon.

Getting back into riding. Mostly just fire roads and basic trails in the local state park. I'm trying to find the best way to transport my bike with my tonneau cover. right now i take the front wheel off and just cram everything under the tonneau, but its beating up the bed a bit. Also, my new Specialized Chisel i just ordered has a through axle with no quick release for the front. would like to see what others are doing with the Rugged cover II type covers. I dont really want to have to remove my cover.

Your other options involve bed/roof racks. I think they make them that fit over a bed cover.

Here’s an example, but a different bike tray should allow you to leave the front wheel on.

I ordered a set of these mounts that allow you to use thule or yakima rain gutter towers and bars. This way I can use any of the standard yakima accessories. And they will be super easy to remove.

My 5yo girl just learned to peddle last weekend. The 3yo boy balances on the strider really well and has zero fear. He’s too tall for the strider now so I just picked up a freebie old school bmx bike- no paw patrol haha. Anyway pretty exciting to get to start riding with my kids!

I'll have to see if I can hunt my receipt down. I don't have the truck anymore to measure it.

How do you guys store your bikes? I'm thinking of hanging ours in our garage, but I'm wondering if that could have any negative effect on the suspension.

No worries, I can probably figure it out by looking at your pictures and taking some measurements.

No negative effect on suspension. It is actually good to turn your bike upside down once in a while to get the oil to the seals. I hang most of our bikes vertically in the garage.

    It’s the Frontrunner Bed Bars.
I’m so/so about them. The mounting systems (how they attach to Tundra rails) kind of sucks. They loosen up over time. Every few weeks I need to tighten them. I’d threadlock, but I move them around too much.

    Here’s an updated pic.
I went with some 1UP bike racks, so I don’t have to remove the front wheels (center bike I’m still using a Yakima forklift).
    They kick ass!
I can get 3 full size MTB’s on the rack, and the Yakima Skybox 16. It’s perfect for us.

Eta - oh, and I picked the wifey up a Specialized Rockhopper Pro, 2015, used, for $550.00. Good score for her.

Got my new bike and rack setup. Very happy with both. Ended up getting a specialized Fuse Comp 27.5+. The rack system is great and easy to remove when I need to take the bed cover off.

Upside down? Right side up? Front wheel up?
Really shouldn't matter too much. It is actually beneficial to store bikes upside down bc it gets the oil up into the seals and keeps them lubed up.

They'll be front wheel up. I'll be riding at least once a week during the riding season. During the 4 - 5 month long off season, I'll pull them down occasionally to pump the suspension a few times then flip them upside down for a day or two.

I recently bought 4 of these to clean up the garage and my bike storage issues. Kinda pricey but you can mount your bikes really close together by staggering them on the wall and they swing left to right so you can pull a bike out of the middle without removing the other bikes beside it. I also like they don't hook around the rim itself to hang.
