Equifax Settlement - Get $.21 - FTC Sucks

I have finally succeeded in setting up accounts and freezing my credit for my wife and myself with all three agencies. I initially tried soon after the Equifax debacle and it was impossible and they wanted to charge me. I found that now the process is much more automated and there is no cost.

However, if you do this first try to go to freecreditreport.com to get the information you'll need to verify your identity when setting up your accounts. Unfortunately for me, I was not able to initially verify my identity to get the free reports so it took quite a bit of time on the phone. I had forgotten old phone numbers and they had a previous employer name incorrect so it rejected my verification.

 

Did anyone opt for the free 10 year monitoring? I forgot to sign up for my free year this year (since I was affected by the breach) so idk if I will be eligible to sign up next year.
