Just purchased a '19 Crewmax a month ago. Love this damn truck. Had a '16 F-150 with the 2.7 V6 and aluminum body. That truck was the worst. A handtool box fell over and punched a hole in the bed.....no shit.

The one thing I hate on my Tundra is headunit and sound, so looking to upgrade. Can anyone point me to a couple of units that have a pretty clean install with Carplay? Android Auto would be a plus also.

    Thanks

I installed a Pioneer GM Digital Series GM-D1004 under the seat. 100 bucks, It made a huge difference in the sound. I'm still using the stock speakers.

@james@tech12volts just hooked me up with an entire system, which included the Kenwood ddx9906xr, JL subs, hertz speakers, and a dash cam...

Dude’s service is top notch! It’s going to be so sick. A couple pictures from my install so far...

Another happy return customer of @james@tech12volts here. I first did his speaker upgrade w the stock radio and wow it was good already. I recently upgraded my radio from James also with the maestro rr module to retain steering wheel control and live data from the ecu. KENWOOD dmx906s it has wireless CarPlay with I love.

Another vote for getting in touch with James @tech12volts
I love my kenwood headunit with maestro rr +TO2 harness, JL amp, Hertz door components, JL dash tweeters and JBL sub in custom box, all from James at an amazing price and excellent support and instruction.
I wouldnt recommend anyone else other than James and won't ever do a car audio upgrade without involving him in some way

Do it!!!!! You will not believe the difference it makes. And the android auto/CarPlay is great. I have and old kenwood and even it blows away my OEM JBL entune. I mean they even took pandora away from entune, it's useless. Go aftermarket and you won't regret it

KENWOOD made my truck so much better. But wireless Apple carplay is what won me. Maestro rr was icing on the cake for me.

I just installed mine today, and had the wireless carplay working... but now I’m having issues. I had to splice TPMS to program the remote start from JRT, but now it’s giving me this screen...

    Ugh!

Did you use the KENWOOD gps antenna? If not switch to it. I had issues using the Toyota gos antenna. While you have the radio out I would check the vss connection and make sure it’s still good. I don’t know how tpms has anything to do with vss. Is your maestro unit still plugged into your obd port?

Good info. I also found a thread on issues people are running into and hopefully I can figure out a fix. I’ll pull it apart and look at this tomorrow.

    Appreciate the help.
