Thing I have found with them is they will wear off and yellow again. My suggestion would be to consider new housings even if aftermarket. If you do go the restore route just make sure you keep them waxed.

Wha do you mean housing? I wanna do a retrofit, but dont want to buy headlights whether oem oaftermarket. My lenses are just a little scratched, but no yellowing going on.

The headlight housing. I don't think the restore kits help with scratches do they? Thought they were for the yellowing? :notsure: Not a headlight guru but maybe a high 3-10k wet sandpaper then some polishing? Not sure that would work may be a question for @eledobleu.

Yeah there are some kits that you use a buffer and a wet sand to get scratches out. Yeah maybe he will chime in. Thanks for the help

Wet sand with 800 grit, then 1500, then 2000 then buff and polish. Very time consuming but if done right your headlights will look brand new with no scratches! Headlight restore kits are for yellowing. Some includes a buffer if the headlight is extremely yellow and oxidized. I use Plastic X and a buffer for restoring yellowed headlights.

Thanks Eledobleu, mcguires makes a heavy duty kit that comes with that same list you just mentioned, also has the plastic x and uv protection. I''ll give it a shot. Appreciate it

I heard a rumor that Jiffy lube will clear up you headlights for $70 or so, and they are under warenty. So you can go back if they fog over again for free.

Not real bad, few scratches, but no yellowing. Some cloudiness. Yeah I have a buddy that did his taco and said he would help me do mine. I like to take on projects and hopefully it's not to apita. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

If its no yellowing, then just wet sanding, buffing and polishing will get it new again!

    Nothing major
I use the 3m kit. It uses 3 different sandpaper grits to Polish off scratches, haze, yellow, whatever. Works great.

I used macguires twice and it lasted about 5 to 6 months each time. Then I took it to a shop to do and that lasted about the same amount of time. So...now I'm just going to change my headlight housing.

I used the Meg's kit on my mom's 07 Camry, it came out nice. She traded it in shortly after so I can't report on longevity.

I just used blue magic on my tundra last night. They weren't bad but a little cloudy. I meant to do before ans after shots but forgot. It was also raining out so not sure how they turned out

I used Mother's NuLens Powerball kit on my 99 Suburban and the headlights looked like new after. The kit comes with a compound, ascending grit rating sandpapers, and a buffer.

I wish I had pictures, the results were amazing and the kit was like $25. I recommend Mother's anything, they make great stuff.
