    Good evening!

I had Billstein 6112 installed this week on a 2010 CrewMax Rock Warrior. I also had them install 5160s on the rear. I am running a 2” block on the rear as well to maintain a good rake.

It’s been a difficult week to say the least. The installation hasn’t been too smooth.

After finally getting it done I got to take the truck home today but as soon as I pulled out I noticed a major pull to the right. Turned right around and went back. Pretty disappointed with the way the alignment.

Long story short I feel like I need to take somewhere else next week to have it properly aligned.

I will give you some info on my truck. Can anyone please help me with alignment numbers so that I can clearly show the next shop the correct specs for my set up?

    2010 Rock Warrior CrewMax
    Billstein 6112/5160
    2.5” setting for front
    2” block in back
    305/70/17 all terrain tires
    Rock Warrior wheels

If anyone with knowledge on alignments can help me out I greatly appreciate it! Have a great weekend!

Anyone out there have good numbers I should use to show the next alignment shop? I’d like to have good solid numbers that I can relay to them. Thank you!

As far as the numbers go that is not my area of expertise LOL. But it is critical that they tighten the LCA Cam bolts to spec. (207 ft•lbf) They are known to come loose putting your alignment all out of whack.

Thank you guys! I appreciate the help. I am really hoping they can do a good job. It’s been a real headache this week waiting for my truck to be right. Thanks again!

Do you happen to have a sheet of what they aligned it too the first time?

upload_2019-8-10_21-58-13.jpgHere is the first alignment they did. Had a terrible pull to the right. I went back and had them redo it with me watching. I don’t know much though. I tried to explain what I wanted based on some things I’ve read here before but it was late Friday afternoon and I was already upset with the whole process this week. They redid the alignment with the sheet shown below. I have a bad shimmy/shake on the steering wheel now. My brakes are also really mushy and when I dropped it off they were solid. I’m just not sure I can trust them anymore. I’m headed to another shop Tuesday to see if we can get everything corrected.

Good lord that alignment is absolutely fucking horrible. You should never have a negative caster on a vehicle. They didn’t do a damn thing to your actual alignment. They set your toe and that is it. I hope you didn’t pay for that bullshit. Sorry for the cursing, but this lack of knowing what the hell they are doing is ridiculous.

Yeah, those first numbers were terrible. I just a bad feeling all week about the way they handled the situation. They first tried to tell me it was my tires. My tires are perfectly fine. They have worn great and even all the way across. They also said they couldn’t adjust caster on Toyota’s. I was annoyed but I wanted them to get the numbers better before I drove it for a few days. I couldn’t get into the next shop until this coming Tuesday morning.

The second numbers they were able to get were better but I just don’t feel confident they did a very good job. Anyone who sends a truck out of their shop with an alignment like that seems shady to me. I asked them before I left if the alignment was ok and they said it turned out great.

When I came back in after driving 2 miles I knew they knew what was going on. Why would they do that?! They had my truck for 5 days. I ended up getting new UCAs, new tie rods, 6112, 5160, and an alignment. Got my truck back with mushy brakes, wobbly steering wheel, terrible alignment, and the bracket that holds the brake line was zip tied back on because it looks like they lost or broke the bolt.

They were rushing around and trying to get me out of there Friday afternoon after working on it all week.

I would never leave someone with a final product such as this.

With all this being said, I’ll be taking it to a different place on Tuesday to see if we can get it right.

You must have the 6112 at 2.5 if you got new UCAs. I had issues with stock tires and UCA. Perhaps you can adjust the UCAs which will improve the other settings.

After my suspension upgrade, my mileage numbers went down the drain

I brought my truck to the local 4wd shop who sent me to a suspension and chassis shop that they use for all their alignments. My first alignment was jacked up. These guys knew exactly what to do. Try and find a specialist. 99% of the guys doing alignments at these franchise shops only know how to look for green or red and have no real knowledge of what the actual numbers do and how they affect each other.

This is supposed to be a specialist in our area. We live in southeastern Ohio. There aren’t many truck suspension specialists around this area. They’ve treated me well in the past but this time I feel like they rushed it out the door unfinished after being a long week.

In regards to the new UCAs I believe they just replaced the stick UCAs with new stock UCAs so the adjustability May not be there. If this next shop has troubles I may have to drop some more money to get better UCAs.

What would you guys believe to the culprit of the bad vibration going straight down the highway?

Also, why would my brakes be so solid going in and now they’re very soft and mushy?

Vibration at speed is a balancing issue.

Not sure what’s up with the brakes. Unless they fooled with them at some point due for whatever reason.

Yea it took me about 5 hours to do a full setup just like that in my garage on jack stands. Idk how they pulled that off. Given that my truck was new, I have done another tundra that we had to cut all the oem suspension out and it still didn’t take more than 8 hours. Seems really strange .

    Sorry for your struggle.

Just a quick update on my truck issues. My old trusty shop pulled through. I took it to them and they fixed the alignment, got the wobble out of the steering wheel, fixed the soft brakes and squeaky wheel. I’m hoping all is good to go now and that I can actually enjoy my Tundra again!

Yes it is! It’s been a long few weeks. All I wanted to do was simply add 6112s and 5160s to improve the ride and upgrade the truck a little bit. Came away with a small mess to fix! All in all, life isn’t so bad. I probably got a little uptight about it. I’m not a very patient person. I just wanted to drive my truck. There’s something special about driving a tundra! Glad it’s back in business.

I am glad you got it fixed. That sounds like a pretty crappy situation and I can understand why you would be so frustrated.
I am lucky I have a family owned alignment and repair shop right around the corner from me.
Everyone in the area knows that "Jerry's" is the place to go for Toyotas especially with lifted suspension. You can tell he's a guy that not only understands how to run his alignment machine but understands how to set the alignment for good driving characteristics.

Post a pic of your truck with the new lift!
