    I ordered a 3/1 along with a set of Camburg UCA’s. The plan is to mount 295/70 18 Cooper STT Pros on the stock wheels. Anyone know of any issues with the UCA’s with this setup? Clearance issues?

    Thanks

    i ran a 3/1 level with stt pro 305/70/18 and my wheels are -12 offset and ride in it for 2 years. you won’t need to do new uca’s. btw what did you pay for your camburg uca and where did you buy it from?

    $599 from Carid. The ride feels much smoother than my ‘08 with the same 3/1 on stock UCA’s.

    Getting the truck realigned now to Camburgs instructions. Les Schwab didn’t want too and really flubbered it up.

    Did camburg give you specific advice on alignment settings?

    Yea, it’s in the instructions plus I called. They also had the toe screwed up and it was pulling pretty hard to the right.

    Can you share plz :D

    This was all I had from their PDF:

    5.0 Alignment You will need to have your vehicle aligned by a qualified shop. Additional castor is built into the Camburg arms to correct alignment issues that are inherent with lifting the vehicle. Have your alignment shop increase castor from the OEM suggested specs, then set camber and toe. Having an increase in castor helps with straight line stability and cornering precision.

    Cams neutral Camburg spec is about 6.5 to 7.5 IIRC, few more out of the gate than the OE ones. They have the highest built in caster from all the arms available.

    That’s what I had as well. They said 5-6 is normal but was also told to have it maxed out the first time I called. First alignment tech didn’t want to and stated he didn’t understand why Camburg designed them that way. The new shop is supposed to be setting the caster to 6. I’ll share how it turns out when it’s all done.

    man its so hard to find competent alignment shop that understand how it work. Most they do are Camrys and mini vans seems like. Bring a lifted truck and they are lost.

    Alignment is done and it now drives and tracks better than new. I can now drive “hands free”, and could not yesterday.

    Old alignment:

    The new shop stayed on it until it was right.

    The shop said that the way the toe was set, the tires were “grinding”.

    I’m guessing that my mileage will get better now.

    You would be surprised, most people are lucky if they are driving around with your first alignment. And nobody torques the cams and tie rods correctly, nobody. I honestly think they do it because if you do it right, your alignment is good till something wears out, or bends, they hold really well. I just paid the only shop I trust almost 3 times normal to be dialed in due to being busy. They called at 10:30 a.m. to say it would be 2 hours more to dial it, ok no problem. My alignment was done at 10:18 a.m., the computer can’t lie, and the manager was out and I paid the tech. You were done at 10:18 a.m.?, yep was easy... The alignment sucked, but karma can deal with them. I aligned it myself.

    Camber = -.2 both sides
    Caster = L 4.2 R 4.7
    Toe = 1/8” total - I spend some time getting my steering wheel centered
    perfect, once close this will get reduced a bit as a final
    tweak. Takes me a few days of driving.

    Drives unbelievable.

    I will pm you. Got pretty pissed, and know alignments very well so I have everything to do a proper alignment now. It simply takes time, I work around coilover clearance, wheelwell placement, so it’s an all day thing for me. I have kicked around offering to do alignments for Tundras only due to frustration. Do you ever end up out towards Queen Creek?, you can drive mine if so.

    I have camburg ucas too and have very similar specs as your newest alignment. drives great.

    loads of people for some reason want exactly 0 camber or slightly positive which is weird.. imo slightly negative works well for independent suspension front ends since when turning the outside wears more.

    :thumbsup: That and toe, at 0 Camber tire is straight up and down, no wear. Now toe it in and you have outside tire wear. Little negative corrects this.

    You got a good old school do the work alignment, it stands for king pin inclination. Super old term, called SAI now. Basically the angle between your upper ball joint and lower. Moot point, it’s adjustment changes slightly with alignment.

    Me too. They are Kaiser Brake and Alignment here in Eugene. I think I’ll have them bag my ‘91 Dodge Cummins when I’m done with the Tundra. It rides a bit like a hay wagon.

    Glad I found this. Just installed them on my truck and was wondering why caster was soooo high. Spec stock is like 3* but these suckers are at like 5.5* with camber and tie set perfectly in the middle. So this apparently is normal for Camburg? A5B7F558-02E6-48DF-A632-48113BA7B6DC.jpg

    A36E4743-DD44-46EA-89A8-471125554E81.jpg Was shooting for 6* total caster each side but hey camber and toe fell right into place. I think I’ll like how it rides so we shall see. Might fine tweak her after a drive or two. Might not need to

    Mine rides a bit harsh like my ‘91 Dodge CTD but it’s most likely because I’m running 50psi in the tires.

    I run 47 on mine but my door says 49. I put it lower to see what would happen. Prob nothing I’ll notice really but my mpg’s didn’t change dipping to 47 so I’ll keep that rolling. I know after installing the uca’s it’s gotten smoother than it was with the boss/radflo stuff up front.
