Big difference between the two. The stock primary one of them is like 2in long and just dumped into the other primary. No wonder once you put headers on the tundra it makes a big difference..

First impression is wow, midrange and top is definitely improve. Low end torque is the most improvement.

I am assuming as hard as if you were to install the LTs?

I got them from LMP performance. Pricy yes but if you live in emmision state its not a bad mod at all. For doug thorley the LT gain only 6hp and 12lb more torque over the shorties. But the LT are more consistent through the power band. It took me 6 hours to install on a lift pretty difficult compared to LT because you have to lift the engine and its really tight because the shorties are so fat. Like i said the power in the beginning is great seems like at first loss low end torque but now i have 100 miles on them seems like theirs way more torque than stock. Sound is really good made my dirty deeds exhaust sound even more badass...mods to date
    -S&b intake
    -Bullydog tune
    -Dirty deeds exhaust
    -DT shorties

Long tubes personally might be easier getting them on but refab the mid pipes was not for me definitely if I'm going to sell it I might take the Shorties with me and put back to stock manifold. And im not fan messing with o2 sensor and dealing with check engine every 1000 miles. But no doubt if your looking for all performance i reccommend the jba LT just because keith and BD did a custom tune for those headers on our tundras. But if live in emmision state or have a warranty or like the idea switching back to stock i reccommend the shorties cheers..:hattip:

It looks like DT did a great job of equalizing the length of each runner, making them an actual improvement over stock manifolds.

Did you have any clearance issues when installing these, and what muffler / tail-pipe are you running currently?

    Thank you.

Guys im telling you the more i drive it the better its getting. These headers are crazy. I mean i have to watch how i press on the throttle around corners the traction light comes on everytime i go around the corner. They are not LT but damm i have to give doug thorley credit because they did a really good job creating these headers.

Did your mpg increase at all since you created the extra power at low to mid range? Have you ever dyno?

Mpg did go up like 1.5mpg in rear world but i did s&b intake at the same time. No dyno showing true results which sucks. just butt dyno. From 2500-4000 rpms is where you get that kick of extra power i could feel it for sure. Seems like maybe the computer has adjusted to them or im getting used to the power.. In the near future im getting full on race exhaust with longtubes headers.

New to Tundras, thanks for the good information. Just picked up an 07 after I totaled my Taco a month ago.
Anybody seen the DT headers in stock anywhere? I emailed DT direct as their page shows every item out of stock, but havent heard back. Dont know if JBA fixed their QC issues but I had DT on my Taco and they were awesome.
    Thanks.

Welcome, I have the DT shorty headers and they are alot better than the jba shorty headers. I would try to get JBA long tube is the best way to go.. If you are going to tune the truck with bullydog tune than I would definitely go for long tubes. Will shorty headers work with bullydog tune no and yes, you have to run atleast 89 octane because you have to put the tune on trail because if you put it on regular it will go lean. Right now my setup is TRD intake with SABM mod/ bullydog tune on trail running 93 octane/dirtydeeds exhaust/ DT shorty headers pulls freaking crazy but more than long tubes probably not lol

Thanks for the quick response. I dont have a tune, I'm looking to replace stock as I have a crack on bank 1 and refuse to replace with stock. Might as well improve. Just cant find any DT in stock, can only find JBA and I dont really want them.
