Hey guys I think my next purchase will be a Hi Lift... So I was hoping you all can post some pix of where you have them mounted. I was thinking, I like the look of the hood mount like a wrangler could have it. Would that be doable in our trucks? I like the bed racks with all the recovery gear on it, but with my BakFlip cover that won't work. Screenshot_2019-08-06-10-57-57.jpg

I think mounting on the hood looks cool on Jeeps but the hood on the 3rd gen limits view to the front so much— especially off-roading, going up over anything, you come down completely blind— I decided I wouldn’t do it. Still may eventually on the 1st gen, BUT...

I also put that off after reading and listening to experienced guys on here. I went ahead and bought a bottle jack. Everyone told me a bottle jack does what I need and a hi-lift has some serious attachment and skill requirements. I do want to learn to use a high-lift jack at some point, and I’ve got rock sliders as attachment points....

(I’ll be following along to see what you do.)

I was thinking hood mount would limit visibility too...and here in California I'm thinking the Highway Patrol could pull you over for obstruction of view. It might look good mounted on the top of your front bumper tucked in behind the light bar.

Being short as it is you guys are probably right about the view thing too.

How about on the part that doesn't flip up on the bed cover? The very back near the window.

Can you mount it to the inside of the bed(on the side)?

I could. But I would need to then buy the bed track system. Which I don't currently have.

No I meant something like this. I don't think you'd need the track system for quick fists.

I mounted mine on the bed floor. Just two bolts going through the floor. Hi-lifts are really heavy and didn’t want to put any stress on the bed rails or the bedsides. With enough wheeling especially if you do any high speed, it’ll eventually give.

Even though quick fists are “rated” to hold a hi-lift, I wouldn't feel comfortable mounting it on the bedside. Too much weight bouncing around offroad. I have 2 tie downs through the bed floor close to the cab that I secure it to.

I was also wondering how the victory molle bed panels have been holding up when used with a high lift Jack. Anyone else running this that off roads?

I though you might recognize that picture.

Been meaning to ask, who makes those tie downs on your bed?

I would pass on the high lift jack. There are lots of better safer Jack's out there most will come with there own mounting problems but a safer option even if more expensive is better in my opinion

I like this especially the gas can mount. What brackets are those? And will it fit under the bed cover?

Get a floor jack (habor freight) then buy skid and mounting plate.01313_486PfC7hpLP_600x450.jpg

The gas can mounts? I got this one.
    https://www.4wheelparts.com/Exterio...spx?t_c=3&t_s=188&t_pt=8401&t_pn=S/B2798&gp=1
But the top strap down piece has lost it's rigidity and keeps bending now and just falls off when I wheel hard. If I had to do it again, I'd probably get one with a tie down type strap.
