    Good evening yall,

I just bought a 2019 tundra, and I'm looking for a a good crossover toolbox for the bed. Anyone have any suggestions? I'm looking hard at weatherguard, but I'm not totally sure which models will fit.

    TIA

I bought a Camlocker Low Profile with matte black finish. I am very well pleased Great quality and a little cheaper that Weaherguard but either would be good.

UWS low profile, slim-line. Doesn’t hold a ton, but it’s just right for tow straps, a few tools and a couple other things. Bigger boxes are available. I’ve heard the quality is a little less than Weatherguard, but the price is less too.

I’m all about weather guard. They are probably one of the more expensive boxes (if you don’t get their Home Depot special box) And it shows in their craftsman ship and the thicker aluminum they use and latches. So the saying goes by once cry once. Unfortunately at the time I didn’t realize how far Tono cover said come in the past 10 years and have since sold my weather guard box for a soft tongue cover from TruXport.

It’s great to be able to have 8 foot covered storage and not be limited by just the truck box But understand that it is not lockable other than the tailgate But does keep wondering eyes at bay at least

I see you got the old school AAA paper map of California. Nice touch. You still using the printed map over phone or tablet? you find them more easy to use? just curious since i used to have a bunch myself but got rid of them over time

Honestly, I’ve had those same maps in my cars/trucks for the last 20 years, but haven’t used them for years.

What is the model number for the low profile version? I'm wanting a low profile but still deep enough to be useful. Just don't want all the box sticking up in rear view mirror if i can help it.

Believe the low profile version is 121-5-01. Only 2.5 Cu. Ft. less useful. :)

UWS or Weather guard are the only 2 I'd ever consider. I've only ran UWS. I've had friends with tractor supply tool boxes and they don't last as long as uws or weather guard. Welds breaking, latches quit working, locks don't work, etc. If you are going to be using the tool box regularly, spend a little extra and get a good one.

Yeah that's what i've been seeing doing my research. UWS or Weather Guard. I was originally going to put a tonneau cover, but I think a tool box may do everything I need for less and still have the bed.

With your toolbox does it obstruct any vision in rear view mirror?

Does the height come above say the middle headrest in the rear ?

Finally made up my mind and went with the WearherGuard 127-52-02. Matte Black. Very happy with it so far. 0B3FB395-0FF9-41F2-95CA-B5C5DE931C0C.jpg

Gooseneck hitch, Super Springs, K&N Air Intake, 10 ply tires.
Thank you all for taking the time to add your input here. Has anyone looked at the CamLocker Crossover toolbox with the rails? I have been eyeballing that but I can't see how it would work on the new model Tundras, specifically the crewcab, without the rails hitting the back window glass. Thoughts?

I think when you mount it to the bed you would lift the lid open and place it where it has clearance with the back window, then tighten it down with the attaching bolts.
