East Coast, Mid-Atlantic region. We get our fair share of rain and snow and I take it through the automated car wash quite a bit. Just completed a long trip with 8 hours of driving through pouring rain with the bed loaded with suitcases, and such. Stayed dry the whole time.

One thing to keep in mind is that the Rugged hard liner II comes in 2 versions. One where the padding is foam and the better version where the padding is denser rubber. I have the better version with the rubber. I picked this one thinking that the foam would damage easier and absorb water and freeze.

I tried searching for "Rugged Solid Fold II" and kept getting the 'Extang Solid Fold 'and 'Rugged'. I'm sorry to take your time, but will you either look up the exact name of the one you bought, or post a link?

Thanks for the report out about how well yours has done! I'm pretty excited to think yours may be The One!

Another thing you can do to save some major bucks is keep a close eye on craigslist. Seems like I always see tonneau covers for sale on there. I stalked craigslist daily for a couple of months looking for one and found an OEM Toyota cover that was only three months old for $500. It came new installed on the guy's truck (it was a $1,200 or $1,300 option) and he took it off to buy an ARE camper shell so he could haul his hunting dogs around.

Hit up @eccracer104 for an autoanything.com discount on a tonnopro trifold soft for 200 and save the money for something else you will like like some @Diode Dynamics ss3 pods for another 200 and still have 400 for mods. That was the price on my trifold when I bought it a year ago. Or just blow 800 on a tonneau, your call either way but enjoy :)

Got a lowmax which I love. Think it's the best looking and great quality. Paid $675 shipped. I searched on here and someone had posted a vendor that still then got this price of you call up.

I would avoid the Extang solid fold. I can't stand mine. It leaks and dents easily. Not impressed at all.

I just got the Lomax from AutoAnything when they had a 22% off flash sale for $732 after tax. Only had it a few weeks but I like the look and it seems well built. Also allows mounting to deck rail without moving it and allows you to use the tie downs as long as you position them where you want them while mounting the side rails of the cover. Water leaks have been pretty minimal so far.

I have the Undercover Flex on mine based on a recommendation by some Tundra forum dude. My Flex looks good, works well for me, and doesn't leak. But...the Flex is $879.

I checked out the cheaper Gator FX you're considering ($799). Four panels instead of three. Flush mount. The reviews are better than the Flex. Single stars on Flex appear to be from people that didn't follow installation directions (leaks). That Gator FX looks good to me. If I didn't already have a cover, I would consider the Gator FX.

My line-x was about $900 and it folds 5 times and had drains. Very sleek and keeps content dry and secure. I store the stock rails for a rainy day with the back seat headrests.

I have the peragon. It comes in right at $800 I believe. It looks fantasti . I have it in bkack a f it really sets off the cement paint.
On a basic level, installation is easy (I got the no-drill kit) but after two attempts I still dont have it on correctly. I emailed them and they sent a few pics but I know they won't be helpful on my next attempt. I'll probably call them but as far as I can tell, I'll get good service from their support team.

I just cant get the thing lined up properly. It's made to only cover the sides with a thing rubber overhang, which is probably not the greatest for our particular truck because of the etched design. I dont expect it to be waterproof but I dont see how it can do it as well as it should with the gaps the etching creates. I might look into designing some kind of rail cover that is smooth and provides a flat surface for the rubber.

I do like the accordian folding but if you have anything over 10 inches tall within a foot of the cab, the cover will hit it.

It really does look slick and I like the way it opens. I don't think hitting stuff near the cab will be a huge issue, but storage totes are out. I have a bar to go across there and keep stuff out of that area.

If I can get it lined up properly I think it'll be ok. But the etching on the side rails will let some water in. Some gets in now, but I think most of that is the alignment. I won't be able to fool with it until it warms up more. I just don't open it now. I don't have the rollers lined up at the moment, although I've found that pretty easy to do.

Do you have the Peragon? Any issues with install, etc?
