I used the Lucas synthetic with a friction modifier bottle added in. I actually regret not driving it without the modifier to see if it would chatter. Anyway currently I don't notice any chatter.

Not all done today, but catching up. :) Have had my 2000 AC 2wd non-LSD 4.7L 213k for a month now and have worked my way through some basics:
    • Polished headlights
    • Fixed rear window latches with aluminum cams
    • Fixed flakey passenger window switch by cleaning contacts.
    • Unplugged and aimed washer jets
    • Air filter
    • Oil & filter
    • Drain & fill tranny (2.3 qts came out and went in. Level was correct before and after. I thought it should be more?
    • Diff oil
    • PCV valve
    • New tires to replace the worn out, mismatched old tires. AFAIK it still had the original spare, dated 1999. Replaced with Cooper Discoverer AT3s and Ironman RB-SUV as the spare.
next up: power steering fluid, coolant flush, front brakes

Installed my Icon AALs yesterday! The ride is great. Only about an inch of lift. We'll see how they hold up with some camping gear here soon.

Used the same on my 2003. Had no chatter, but I knew I was slightly low on fluid, so topped it off w/ friction modifier. Not a peep.

OMFGWTFBBQPIZZA?!?! Don't you know that spacers are the devil and that they only exist for the sole purpose of sending a rogue wheel down the interstate?

Just a heads up that the transfer case and front diff are spec’d 75w-90 of which I used to originally do all 3 fluids locations with Mobil1 Synthetic. The rear did not like the synthetic.

I switched to the Lucas 80w-90 after some readings of others reporting dino oil is the best for the rear diff. My transfer and front diff are still fine with the Mobil1 synthetic.

Yeah not my first choice... but I've run them for years on different rigs without any issues. Are there some nightmare stories to share or are you being sarcastic?!

You joke, but I’ve seen pictures right here on this site of a failed spacer. Gladly, nobody was hurt.

In older vehicles with older seals/gaskets I'm a fan of using regular or high mileage oils/lubes & changing them more frequently versus running synthetics for extended periods. I know many if not most prefer synthetic oils which I'm fine if used since new in a vehicle, but changing on something older - meh. Having to change more often, forces me to look for leaks more often on my aging fleet.

You are spot on as my change over to advanced full synthetic caused a weep in oil pan seal/gasket. It was a slight weep that amounted to maybe a 1/4 teaspoon over 3000 miles. The High Mileage Synthetic corrected the weep, fortunately. Change early and often is a good thing.

It happens. I've also known people that have had wheels come off on the highway because the lugs backed out on factory wheels. I think the common failure point is generally lack of maintenance. My fun truck gets the snot beat out of it with 1.5" wheel spacers on the back and it's been fine for 7 years about. My 06 tundra ran spacers on the front for probably 10 months and all was well. My tundra will probably run the same spacers on the back now.

Fwiw I loctite all my wheel spacers and anti seize all my lug studs that don't have wheel spacers on them.

I read this a few weeks ago.

If and when you have time this link about transmission coolers is an epic read. It will teach what to do and not to do and everything in between. The time line takes about 2 years to develop into an ultimate lesson of redemption. Not to spoil the ending the hero OP, going by DrCoffee, held his cards for that many years before laying his final hand down with a picture that says a thousand words.

    Grab 2-3 beers and enjoy.

Replacement headlights showed up today. Siliconed the seams and installed them. I'm going to try to get out and aim them tonight, if I can stay awake (doesn't get dark til 1030 or 11 this time of year). Pretty happy to be done with the bullshit that the whole purchase was, but it's done now.

Well it’s a good sign that everything is straight up front when the side plastic things for the skid plate bolt right up no issues.

I see you chose to use the early model bumper instead of the later. Any reason why?

Weird. I thought they changed the grill and bumper in 03. Since you have an 05 I expected the circular fogs
