Does anyone else have issues with their kit where every once in a while (like 25% of the time) when you start the truck's ignition it doesn't start completely? What I mean is, the engine will run but the dash will show the ABS/BRAKE lights on and nothing else.

I have had the speedo calibrator on for about 3 years. No issues like you describe.

Hey Kris I apologize I had to run out the door this AM. I first had dash light issues and gauges not working out in the desert when I hit a whoop-de-do doing about 45 mph and the truck came down pretty hard. The truck also shut off on its own when I hit. I went to restart and the dash lit up light a christmas tree with some random gauges working and others not. Kinda freaked me out on a fairly new truck so I limped back to camp and unplugged the battery, fuses, relays etc and it seemed ok. Trip going home it started again and towing a 8000 lb trailer up the grade with questionable gauges was worrisome. I pulled to the side of the road, tore my dash apart and removed the module and all was perfect. Had hypertech send me another unit and had issues again off and on. They sent me a 3rd unit and I did some research while installing, and tried the unit before buttoning up the dash 100% this time. I wiggled the wires going into the plugs and got the dash to act up. What was happening was the harness from hypertech came with a zip tie holding the wires tight, and when you slide the instrument cluster back into place the wire harness comes in contact with the HVAC ducting and that zip tie would not allow the wires to give at all and would cause the pin connectors to move in the cluster plug. Sorry if this sounds a little complicated or not clear, but it all came down to cutting out the zip tie and that allowed the wires to flex and not create a non connection issue. I guess I could of just said cut a zip tie and be done, but I like to know HOW and WHY things work or fail. Yell if you have any questions.......
