3 killed, including 6-year-old boy, in shooting /California garlic festival

My heart goes out to the families. Too tragic. It makes my heart hurt. I would hope the next time someone thinks about going through with hurting people, that they seek help. Or just go ahead and off yourself. Sorry not sorry.

 

But shitbags on the street get them without the Form 4, NFA wait, or having their FFL!

 

Can we please stop using the media's term of "assault rifle". It's a semi-automatic rifle. That is all.

 

I had 2 coworkers at the festival as it happened. Both are military. Both were put on lockdown in the area. Both got sent to a hotel by our commander and told to stay there for the night to make sure they were OK to come back to work the next day. They were within sight of the guy who did this, but couldn't do anything because of the security the ENTRANCE had to the festival. I feel terrible for the people there who lost their lives and the people who lost their family members. It is amazing how far some people will go to cause pain to others for no other reason than to get their names heard.

To add to this, I had an ex-coworker gunned down in Kansas the other night at a party. 3 other military members were shot in this same party by someone who A. Shouldnt have had a gun. B. Wasn't invited to the party. C. Wanted to get his name out there (said he just wanted to shoot someone).

That is a term originating from WWII era possibly Hitler and the Stg44, not the media.

Can’t go anywhere these days without having to worry about some self indulgent, narrow minded prick with a weapon. This happened 75 miles from where I live, way too close!!!

 

The LEO's know who is who. They have a security plan they go over before an event like this. They know who is under cover. The shooter was dead within a minute. No undercovers hurt. This tragedy could have been way worse. By the way in many parts of Kali it's next to impossible to get a CCW

We cannot legislate evil. Words in a law book or on paper don't stop evil, and that's what this shooting was strait up evil. We must acknowledge that while there are many good people real evil exist in many forms in our world And it will be the actions of good men and women who are willing to confront evil wherever it rears its ugly head that will determine how these evil acts are dealt with. Without the action of good people, evil runs unchecked and we all as a community suffer for it.

 

X2. I would also like to point out it’s the Bill of Rights, not the Bill of Needs. Doesn’t matter what he or anyone else thinks I “need.” After 20 years in the service people’s confusion on that issue irks the shit out of me.

Just for the record, the term "Assault" is to describe an action. I can take any 1 of my hunting rifles, and with no ammo in it, bust someone across the bridge of the nose, with the stock. Now my unloaded firearm has become an assault rifle. Some people.

 

ALL plain clothes police officers working events either have their badge around their neck under a shirt to flip out in a second if they to be ID as aLE. Or the badge is located right against their weapon oh their hip covered by a shirt so if they reach for the gun badge will be shown. Repulic of Cali has taken the guns away from the good citizens and haven't made a dent taking guns away from the shit heads!!!!
