Swapping Tow/Haul switch panel for Sequoia one?

I’d love to replace that Tow/Haul switch bezel with something that would hold six switches instead of three and a (IMO) fairly useless pocket. So far, my searches seem to indicate that nobody makes such a thing. I wonder, though, if I might have stumbled upon a “half-way” option?

Online Toyota parts catalogs show that the similarly-placed switch panel for Sequoias *without* any of the adjustable suspension leveling/setting options is the same as our Tundras. If that’s true, will the one *with* those options fit the Tundra too?

    https://parts.toyotaofcoolsprings.com/oem-parts/toyota-compartment-588310c040

The Sequoia panel would provide one additional button position in place of the pocket. The “long” slot, used in Sequoias equipped with a Sport/Comfort controller, can be filled with a blank. It’s a shame that it doesn’t house a full six switch positions, but four is still better than three, and the long blank could be drilled for other buttons or indicator lights.

Has anybody done this? Any reason it won’t work? Is there some other swap/option available that would yield five or six slots? Inquiring minds want to know . . .

That dash area from the Sequoia was the same only for Gen 2 Tundra through 2013. Toyota redesigned the interior for the Tundra in 2014 model and the Sequoia switch bezel won't fit.

Yep yep - that's why I posted it only in the 2nd Gen subforum.

I'd still really like some sort of "Factory Look" solution to hold a full six factory switches there, but this seemed better than nothing.

Thanks to your post, I actually gave this a shot since I work in a Toyota parts dept. It fits perfect, the finish is slightly different as it has like a lined texture on the sequoia piece. Overall once installed though you can’t really tell. This is a good option to add switches in a factory looking way. The switch bezel I used was 58831-0C060 and the large blank is 55539-0C060.B0D9E0C2-A468-4DBE-B105-292C0CCCD0C3.jpg

Someone should use a 3D printer to make one with 6 button slots.

I'm glad it worked as I hoped. Looks great, man!

Funny you should say that :D

I've got a good friend working on that very thing as we speak. I ordered a Tundra switch panel and a Sequoia one (just to cover the bases) to be sent to his shop; as soon as they arrive, he's going to get on making a 3D print model with 6 factory switch positions, like so:

    upload_2019-8-17_15-10-4.jpg

I will post an update if he is successful, for those that might be interested in such a thing.

If for some reason that turns out to be a non-starter, I'm pretty sure one could replace the horizontal blank in that Sequoia panel with a backlit laser etched plate and a toggle. Not quite the full-factory look, but still pretty clean if done right. That's my Plan B.

Hi. So pumped i found this thread. I'm chucking my 3 switch panel. So has this 6 switch been made and available for sale now? If not, the part number for the Sequoia is 58831-0C060, correct?

This is awesome! If nobody has made the six switch panel yet I'd be willing to make them if enough people are interested.

How much for a prototype? Would you 3D print them?

So glad I found this thread.
I am in the early planning stages of my tundra and was looking for a clean place to mount light switches.

I found the oem sequoia piece on eBay for $17 shipped!

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/331704755205

does anyone have confirmation of switches that will fit right in or very close in the oem holes?

Any update on the 3D part? I’ve had the same thought, just ordered the sequoia part, might take it to the kid down the street with a 3D printer. Buying one would be easier.......

What else from a newer Sequoia can fit our 2nd gen Tundras? Has anyone looked to see if the newer cluster/upper dash trim is a direct fit for our Trucks?

Looks Good! What color did you choose for the light color from CH4x4, amber. I haven't seen a good picture to see how well any match the factory switches until now.
