I was reading about upgraded batteries vs. the Toyota factory version. Any recommendations?

I have had good luck with Walmart ever start, I lived in Hawaii for years and had to replace batteries every year or two. Got a Walmart battery that still works , probably 3 years in Hawaii and 3 on the mainland

Conventional flooded acid batteries are no longer what they were just a couple of years ago. For one thing, there are now only a few manufacturers remaining in the US. There many brands, but they are all made by the same people and the quality is crap.

For an UPGRADE, I went with an AGM (absorbent glass mat) type battery, specifically the Northstar NSB-AGM27F. It was not cheap ($360), but I was willing to pay to avoid buying a new battery every two years. Northstar AGM batteries are made from virgin pure lead, rather than recycled lead (where your core is headed). They are less susceptible to sulfanation and will last longer than conventional batteries if maintained at full charge. To charge an AGM battery, or keep them on maintenance float, a smart charger like CTEK is required to charge them "low and slow".

Like the 2 previous posts....Northstar or Odyssey. OEM batteries suck. Mine crapped out after 2 years and the weather isnt even extreme hot or cold where i live.

I upgraded to the Walmart group 24. Lol, 48 bucks, I'm serious it's going on a couple of years so far.

Edit , I'm joking about the upgrade part but serious about everything else.
