Nice write-up. I don't have any empty switch locations..... may have to get creative with that.

I connected the fog ground (bent out) to headlight relay ground via epa4wd's method. Works as stated above. Wondering if I connect the fog ground to headlight ground like before, but instead not bend the fog ground out and allow it to plug back into the housing. Will I be able to control fog with parking lights and still get benefits of fogs/brights with headlights on?

Is there a way to make the stock on and off switch to work on a platinum?

That would be ideal even with the just the parking lights.

Too bad the fog lights don’t work with lights in Auto position. I never change mine out of the Auto position so I’ll have to try something else.

I have the 2018 headlights installed on my ‘15 platinum and did this anytime fog mod. Ive experienced that my DRLs were brighter when they were on auto mode (during the day with headlights off) vs when in parking lights only mode. Now that I’ve done the anytime mod, since the DRLs no longer are on when in auto mode, the DRLs are not as bright when I’m in parking lights only mode. I love the look of DRLs and fog both on at same time, but is it normal that my DRLs are not as bright when in parking lights only mode?

Solved! Sorry for clogging up the thread. In parking lights mode, DRLs are dimmed when parking brake is engaged. Once parking brake is released, DRLs go bright. Thank you @BlueBottle for the dim/brightness explanation! And thank you @xtyfighterx for the anytime fog mode write up - love it!

For reference 2016 Tundra, once this mod is complete I understand the fog light switch no longer works but does that mean even when you switch it on, the positive wire does not get a signal/power at all?? @xtyfighterx

Has anyone done this with a 3rd gen Tundra like my 2014?

Any other tips @OBXTundra as I'm not certain what is connected to what.

Hi guys, just got my 2019 Limited CM Off road 2 days ago and been reading on how to get fogs on with drl and low beam with auto set. I traded my 2010 Tacoma in and had fogs on anytime and want the same thing with the Tundra.

Thanks to OP for the original post. I played around with it and got it working with auto set and fogs on. Even when parking and low beam comes on, the fog stays on except for high beam. I’m happy with this as I rarely use high beam.

What I did was connect the ground from the fog relay to the ground of the drl relay directly with a 16g wire. And that’s all it took.

I wonder if that would work on a 2015 Limited?
I bought the girlfriend a Sequoia, and she wants her fog lights to stay on like mine (all the time), but she has the auto lights, and I do not.
Just to verify, you jumped from the terminal closest to the front of the truck on both relays?
Seeing if you have a pic of which ones you used?
    TIA.

Yes it’s the terminal closest to the front. Look at your cover for where the relay for fogs and DRL is. I’m not sure if your model year is the same.

Funny story. So I haven’t been able to do much of any mods to my Tundra yet and tonight I thought this would be a quick easy one. Found connector already on wire from a set of lights from who knows when. Cut wire to length and got everything all hooked up and put fuse/relay cover back on. Time to test...Drum roll...... started truck and flipped on parking lights. One of my damn fog lights was out. Seriously. Gave it a gentle tap and it came on. Smh

Shite, this is even better then my method if it works for my 2011. So foglights will be on all the time no matter if on auto or off but turn off for brights? I have DRL brights on my retrofit I did, so ive been trying to figure out when headlights are on DRL brights turn off and when headlights are auto/off/parking they turn on. Pretty much how the drl on the turn signals get brighter and dim when headlights turn on and off. Trying to alternate my headlights and DRL brights. If any of that makes sense.

Nice DIY mod but , I like all my accessory lights switchable. If it's foggy, I'll flip a switch. If I need more light to back up, I'll flip a switch. If I want all the red and blue lights on, I'll punch it through a school zone...

Awesome directions! Spot on!!!! Thank you. If you do not want to bend the prong on the relay you could do what I did instead. This way you can eliminate the mod without damaging the relay using just four jumper wires, four female connectors, three male connectors, and one loop connector for the ground. Cut a tiny notch on the edge of the relay/fuse box for the wire to come out of from under the cover and you have a clean install. The relay fits beautifully in that little spot.15765137721534975742119034170544.jpg 15765142861499094933446745526401.jpg
