Hey everyone, I am trying to piece together a little trip to North GA (I’m from east of Atlanta) and want to know any trails you guys recommend. I’ve never been off-roading, but I’m going with a guy who has a Tacoma that has been multiple times. Post some pics of your trip! Thanks everyone!

If you're willing to venture across the border into TN there are a lot of forrest roads that can be fun. I'm sorry I don't have suggestions for GA.

It was great. Tellico Plains is only an hour or so from my house though. Easy day trip for us.

How long did you spend off-road?

You could honestly spend all day driving the various forrest roads along the NC/TN border. This particular one takes roughly an hour and has 5 water crossings.

I live about an hour north of Atlanta.

Through my research and own driving, I think the Dawson forest - city of Atlanta tract would be a nice leisurely day trip. There's also some decent camping throughout if you wanted to stay the night.

If you're willing to go a bit further, there's a reasonable loop around Helen that involves Tray mountain road. There's a bunch of great YouTube videos on this one so that you can see what you're getting in to before you go.
I've found tray mountain Rd to be closed coinciding with heavy rainfall, so make sure it's open before you go.

...even if it is closed, there's some decent roads that connect and they provide camping and some light fishing.
