So I didn’t really drive the truck much stock, being that I purchased it then went into the build shortly after. So I can’t give that accurate of a comparison. However it drives like I remember it did stock. I was expecting a lot of power loss, but I don’t really feel it. Again, this is having drove it maybe 5 times prior to replacing the gears.

1 1/2 inches on the rear plus whatever the tires add, and 2-3 inches on the front plus tire height.

Does the long travel kit add a lift too or should I just get a lift because it’s too expensive for me to get a a LT kit

What did you put on the front for the 2-3 inch and the rear for the 1-1/2

If you go back to the first page he's got everything listed. The front would be the King coilovers and the rear is the custom leaf pack.

This is an outstanding build. Keep it up @MRKSe7en

What are the length of the rear shocks? Maybe 12" x2.5"?

Perfect, I was really hoping 12s would fit. Now I just need to try and make 3.0s fit in there without some crazy wheel spacers. I guess there is always inside the frame.

    Sweet truck by the way.

Also... Do you happen to know if your front tire is pushed forward more than stock? I would imagine they move it 1-1.5", but I don't think I've seen it mentioned anywhere.

    Thanks

The 12’s don’t fit without modifications and rear wheel spacers. I have inch and a half wheel spacers in the rear and I’d say that’s the minimum, I want to replace them with 2 inch eventually.

Pushed forward? Not sure. The kits itself increases the track width by 7 inches, 3.5in on each side.

I don't know if it does actually push the tire forward. It's just a fairly. Common thing to do on suspension to get more room against the firewall.

I'm guessing you used the TC extended CV shafts? Did you just use oem cvs or do you know if they are aftermarket? Tc states their shafts only work with oem cvs, but I'd be willing to bet some of the aftermarket brands would work.

I have only seen one long travel tundra kit that pushed the wheels forward.

Any more updates op? I'm using you and your truck to motivate me to build my front suspension.

Yes. I’ve been moving this last 2 weeks so I haven’t had much time but I took her out on some trails the other day and she handled great. I am having some issue with my tires rubbing my fiberwerx front fenders. So I trimmed a little off and still have to see if more adjustments are needed.

Let me know if you have any questions.

    Here is some pics!

Very nice. I was actually worried my fenders would need to be trimmed and they are a little smaller than yours I believe. Thanks for the motivation. My wife finally conceded to letting me build the front suspension but her terms were " but it can't take as long as your last truck!". Haha

I just started my lower arm fixture and now I'm figuring out how to convert the lower to a uniball. Should be fun. Oh and I may have some questions, thanks in advance.

    Hey MRKSe7en,

Did you modify you intake at all after the fenders? I noticed my filter got killed after I did my fenders and removed the inner fender plastic. I had to route a tube up through the front bumper. I plan to do the intake through the cowl under the windshield eventually. Unless you have some other ideas I can steal haha.

No but I installed a cold air intake so I guess I didn’t experience that issue at all. I just got a cheap $50 cold air intake on eBay and then put a K&N air filter on it.

How does the knn stand up to the dust? The oil type filter always concerned me but it could 100% be an unfounded concern.

I don't know if you got your answer yet about whether the wheels move forward-? They don't, but at alignment, I had 'em moved as far forward as possible, which stopped my tires from hitting the cab mount at full lock in reverse. I have basically the same front suspension on mine as this has. Yes, used the OEM shafts.

That's good info thanks. Looks like I should try and push the tire forward .5-1" since I won't have any adjustment in the lowers.

Hey guys. Just an update since last time. I took her out for some fun and broke the rear shock mounts. Turns out the method used to mount them wasn’t the best. Here’s the damage:
    7BBE674A-A081-4B22-8F8A-B37F52A161B3.jpg

So after some more thought the guys at Nafarious Kustoms came up with a more reinforced mounting method and that issue shouldn’t happen again. It’s mounted to the frame with a steel tube reinforcing across the frame. Also rebuilt the shocks since the mount broke the hose. Check it out:
    AF2F6846-7D77-4983-B4C4-C89EF89ED5E8.jpg

Finally you can’t find anything online for these trucks anymore. So I had a custom bumper made for the rear and trimmed the fiberglass to match. Turned out amazing. So happy with it. The license plate folds down to expose the tow hitch.

You might be my spirit animal . Looks like all great improvements to me. If be interested in seeing a picture of the rear bumper from straight behind the next time you are snapping shots. I used to think tube rear bumpers were the way to go, but I've seen some great looking desert trucks with aluminum or steel plate bumpers and it's a great look I think. Custom center console sounds fun. I'm an aluminum guy at heart and I've always dreamed of making a killer center console with mounts for a radio, equalizer, flashlight, drinks, and maybe other random stuff.

What's the plan on the console?

Here is the bumper from the rear.
    8F11C661-8339-4B70-9C90-F3F16D06D24B.jpg

I never liked the look of tube rear bumpers, for some reason I feel like they look cheap unless they are the kind that you generally see on fancy prerunners, that hold the tires in the rear. I love a lot of C4 fabrication stuff and they inspired me to have a steel plate rear bumper built.

As for the center console, I’m exploring ideas still. I don’t want to spend too much, the bumper was quite pricey, but I have a JL audio stealth box in my console right now and I lost all the storage space. So I’d like to build something that gives me a little storage and yes, hook up switches and CB to it. If I can get a fiberglass one made I prefer to do that. Otherwise I was considering making something out of MDF wood and carpet myself. I’ll keep you updated with what I decide.
