@Mtbrider541 was there enough interest for ten sets?
Also is the $300 finished with hardware or just machined blocks?

Great idea! Any possibility of getting the dimensions for the parts so that I can make them myself?

I have a CNC machine with plot dimensions and coordinates for 1 x 3.5 aluminum bar stock each base has different reliefs and off sets.

I could see what a 3D scan file would cost. But honestly I have alot of time into these and when you add material, hardware, shipping and paint I'm only making about $40 bucks in profits.

@Mtbrider541 nice work. Great to see someone using their head to overcome an obstacle that should have already been incorporated into the factory design. Not that everyone needs a sub behind the seat but, no one has ever said, they like less room. Props to you my friend.

Thanks! It comes in very handy. I can't count the number of times that I've been somewhere and needed one of those tools. Not just for the truck, but for helping out friends with house projects, camping, fixing mountain bikes etc.

Oh, and here is another tip... Ditch the wimpy bottle jack that comes stock. I was able to fit a 12 ton Harbor Freight jack in the same spot, and it has a higher lift range for those of us with higher than stock trucks!

I read through all five pages. I do not believe 4in deep pans will fit. I'm asking for the specific measurement of the foam and the carpet down to the metal. I know that EPS box is 4 and 1/4 inches tall which sits actually above the carpet because it almost seals against the bottom of the seat.

The foam and carpet is about 2.5". Then the ESP box fills another almost 2" between the carpet and the bottom of the seat, for a total of about 4.5", or 4.25" as you have mentioned.
The depth varies a little throughout the bottom of the foam - the metal floor is not exactly flat, so it depends on where you measure it; you will get a 1/4" or so variance.

Thats why he used 1.5" wood base which raises the level to fit deeper boxes

Great thread. You folks are giving me lots to think about. I like the idea of raising the back seat height. My wife and kids are short!

I'm not sure I have the courage to cut up the carpet and foam, but I can imagine a set of custom made leather luggage sitting in nicely tailored wells under the rear seats and I'm going to see what it takes to make it happen. I can handle woodwork and leather work myself, but I've never played with carpet and foam.

Mtbrider541, have you considered marketing your design to ESP, and then they could make a taller box and charge us even more for it! Something to consider. Well, something to patent, then consider!

Has anyone ever did like a mollee board underneath the backseat? That way, you fold the seat up and the board and attached mollee bags go up with it leaving the entirety of the floor open. Thoughts?
