    Hello All -

I know that this has probably been discussed before, if so feel free to smack my hands or redirect me. And I am sorry this is long and likely all over the place.....

I recently purchased a 2019 Tundra TRD Pro and it came with what we believe is an Extang Encore three section hard tonneau cover. I had a Decked Box and a Leer Cap in my 2011 Tundra that was recently totaled. The cap went away with he old truck and I the box in the new truck.

Once or twice a year I hit the road and do about 30+ days out of the truck. I expect that to increase with some more frequent shorter trips as well.

I am looking to add a rack system to the new truck. BUT, I would like to keep the tonneau cover (I think). I have a roof rack that will fit the cab. The other thing that is a challenge is that with the Decked Box and the tonneau cover there is only 8 inches of space between them.

So my thoughts / questions are:

    1. Does anyone have a or know of a bed rack system that will allow the tonneau to fold open.
    2. I don't really want to add a cap but would like to use a Dometic Fridge with the set up, so the tonneau would have to be folded open at times. I'm not opposed to upgrading to other waterproof containers for my other stuff.
    3. I would like to add a full length Rhino Rack Pioneer Platform to mount my stuff to but not over a cap, but rather a rack system.
    4. Is all of this possible?
    5. I am I over thinking this?
    6. Has anyone though of a set up like this? Or is anyone already doing this?
    7. Am I not seeing the forrest from the trees here?

Here are some pics of what I had, and some of the things I would like to do:

This was set up this way because of mounting bracket spacing. If I had my choice I would have had the cargo box in the back, but it wouldn't fit. It wasn't ideal.

This is what I am envisioning minus the cap in the back, using the Pioneer Platform (below)

Do I need to loose the idea of being able to still use the tonneau cover with this set up? I would like to keep it for the other 300 days that I am not on the road.

As I said I might be over thinking all of this and I know I can lose some gear but this is driving me nuts. I sure would appreciate some honest feedback on this.

I plan to launch the next trip in mid September so I am running short on planning and execution time here.

    Thanks for your help.

    BB

Someone posted in another thread about the Galleon Rack. It looks like the wide version will allow you to open a tri-fold tonneau with the rack mounted. I have no experience with this nor have I ever seen one other than the web site, but it may satisfy your needs.
