    @Watt maker

    On your 08 Runner, have you re-geared or do you have plans to re-gear. What gears do they come with?

    Do some come with E-lockers?

    Thanks Ron, thanks for the info. I have been spending some time over on the sister site. I haven't been able to find some of that information.
    I think I have narrowed it down to the 4th Gen with a 4.7 or the GX470. I think both would be fun builds. It'll be a couple of years still. The 470's I can find in CO for some pretty decent prices. 4th Gens seem to be a little more expensive because of popularity. Again thanks.

    Initially I was looking at the GX and to be honest that's the way I'm still leaning.
    It's easy to get board out here, I need to keep my brain busy. No better way than planning/fantasizing a future build. Either way my list is short. Thanks again.

    @Grumpy Uncle
    Did you make a decision yet? We are having the absolute worst luck ever finding a rig for my wife. I've been trying to talk her into a 5th Gen 4runner and she's not having it. She initially wanted an LR4, and I basically shut that down and said I'm sorry, but no. We've been waiting on a refresh body style on the Sequoia, but Gesus Toyota is taking forever. We're still holding out. In the mean time, I randomly stumbled across a GX470 and sent it to her this morning. She said she loves it, which I'm totaly confused because it's a 2004 and we're looking at 2015+ yr vehicles LOL. I told her we could pick it up to hold her over until the refreshed Sequoia comes out and then pass the GX470 down to my daughter in 4 years when she can drive, and she was all over the idea.

    I'd love any input on the GX470, from what I've read, they are a gem.
    Here's a pic of the one we might go check out today. It's a 2004 with 150K miles and Tbelt replaced at 110K

    Not yet. I'm still in the wanting, indecisive stage. I still have time though.
    That looks nice.

    I'm going to swing by here shortly and check it out. It looks extremely clean from all of the pics. We'll see.

    I haven't even gone to look at anything yet, only surf the interwebs.
    I say for the last 2 or 3 years those are the 2 vehicles that I always come back to.
    To make it even more difficult on myself, I have been looking at 2012/13 Tacos.

    You'll like it. I've ridden in a few, never owned one though. I wish the 5th Gen T4Rs had that V8. That's the only gripe I have with my wifes T4R Limited.

    Thanks for all the info! I went through it pretty well. This one checked a lot of boxes, but my wife thought it had gray interior and it was tan. That blew the deal....and it was dated inside. I would totally rock it!! It was surprisingly super comfy!! It felt like a great size too, not overly large.
    This rig was clean, and priced very well. An employee of mine was looking for used FJ80’s and I’m going to try and kick him over to this. Someone is going to end up with a gem.
    It was a So-Cal rig, a tad bit of surface rust underneath, but really nothing to worry about. And I worry a lot about rust considering I’ve worked on E coast rigs. Rust sucks.
    The interior was damn near immaculate, looked more like 50K miles, definitely not 150k.
    All body panels matched, no accidents, every service record since new.

    The dealer walked us over to a $60K Landcruiser and a $80K modified LX570, and my wife liked those....go figure. :D

    The interior surprised me! Quality!
    The 80’s are definitely sweet! And becoming expensive if well cared for.
