I have this set up in my CM. The front is mounted in front of my mirror so it is out of sight and obstruction. A must in order to be legal to drive on base as they will get you for hanging an air freshener from your mirror. The rear camera I ran the wires down through the door sills and then up behind the seat. I mounted the actual rear camera using the sticky pads to the hard plastic where the seat belt comes out of the rear seat. Been working great for almost a year now.

Never had a single issue at all going back and forth on base with my front cam mounted in the front windshield. I work on base. Retired military as well. Most of the time there are nothing but young kids working the gates.

I never had an issue on any other base except here at Kirtland. There is actually an AFI about it that I had them find and point out to me cause I was arguing bout how stupid it is.

I see. May also depend on who is working the gate and is really looking for dash cams. Lackland, Randolph, Fort Sam Houston and Camp Bullis don't care.

It's just been mounted with good 3M double side tape. Been there since I got the truck 5 months ago and has never fallen off. If also see some people get a small piece of aluminum and bend it into an L shape and screw it through the liner and mount camera that way.

Don't want to drill through the headliner. Does the camera move around and create shaky video?

Vantrue T2. Love it. Been with Vantrue for 4 years now. Never had issues with the camera itself. Once I cut the charging cable by accident after having the camera over a year. Customer Service sent me a brand new charger free of charge. Window mount got weak, again..sent me new one free of charge.

I have a battery back up behind the left foot kick panel that is wired through fuse taps (ground, 12v+, 12v accessory). From the battery backup it has a 12v cigarette plug that the camera system plugs into and I just routed the rear wiring across the edge of the headliner and seal. I did the same thing for the front camera. Routed wiring across the top headliner to the mirror cap. The battery back up is specifically for dash cams. It's a fast charge and charges when the truck is running and then powers the camera system when I shut it off. Regular battery packs aren't built for this as they don't support pass through charging.

Bringing the thread back to life.
I'm getting the Vantrue N2 Pro suction mount for the rear and the Viofo A129 single for the front.
    Here is my idea.
With the Vantrue N2 Pro point front cam to the rear and the rear cam point to the front, I can attach it to the window with the suction in case i need/want to run the window down (not while parked)
I can get a semi park mode in rear and sides.
Mount the A129 at the rearview point front and get ok parking mode for the front.
This should cover me, I think.
    What do y'all think?

Not making any sense at all. The Vantrue is meant to be a rideshare camera. It doesn't have parking mode so that is useless. As far as the A129, it doesn't have true parking mode either. You have to manually turn it on for it to work and if you want that to work, it has to be hardwired. My opinion is poor choice. A suction mount as well for the rear window doesn't make sense because you have to remember to remove it just to roll the window down

After reviewing a little more I'm getting the Blackvue DR900S-2CH-IR. The IR will go on the back window facing forward to catch side views and maybe even a bad cop, who knows.
And Im getting the Blackvue DR900S-1Ch for the back window facing to the rear.
    Both will be hard wired
The DashCam Store has a cool Tundra rear window mount

DR750 performs better and low light than the 900. The 900 has also had overheating issues due to the the 4k processor 1080p is still great quality and the 750 is cheaper. If you want to even take advantage of the parking mode the Blackvue has to offer, you're either going to need a voltage regulator or a battery backup such as a cellink or Blackvue backup

Got these in, confused me at first but i got it.
Drop the top window rubber and then it all makes sense.
The window is free to operate as designed.

    Update.
The rear window bracket does good on smaller cams.
If you have a larger cam, it will bounce, a lot.
I cannot recommend this bracket for a large cam.

I can't speak to that particular dash-cam, as I am running a kenwood cam directly to my head unit. However, in our RV I have a usb powered dash-cam that I hardwired using this kit. I don't like wires hanging around everywhere. I wired it to the fuse box, but I considered wiring it to a dome light, but I didn't want to mess with the tiny wires up there.

I just got my A119 v3 yesterday (Prime deal) and have been playing with it a little bit. Will hardwire this weekend when I get my fuse taps. I will probably switch over to the A129 duo 4K comes out as well and put the other in my daughters 4Runner.
