Hey this is my first post. I have a 2004 double cab that I want to put a bed rack on for carrying kayaks and bikes. Now that I've researched a bit maybe a truck tent someday. I have an access roll up tonneau and I really need to have security so need some kind of cover. WouldWlove to keep mine. Worst case would consider a new cover. Having trouble finding a good option that's functional and looks good. Ideas? Kind of intrigued by voodoo Alumax but I don't think I can fully roll back cover with it. Like the Yakima overhaul but doesnt fit. Ideas?

Keeps the bed space open for hauling large items, yet allows for lockable storage.

You can throw a tarp over the truck bed for a quick tent and sleep in the bed. Light and breaks down fast. Keeps the weigh jiggles away associated with the roof top tents.

I’m able to roll my tonneau about 90% open with the kB voodoo rack:

    Thanks for the ideas everyone.

Casper421 thanks for sending that pic that's the first time I've seen that rack on a 1st gen double cab it looks awesome. Also thanks for confirming you can roll up a cover under the back of the rack that is huge. I realize that is your model, mine might be different but at least in concept it's possible and that's enough for me to try it. I was leaning towards the 18" but after seeing your 10" with the tonneau clips I think maybe the 14" would be best for me knowing I'm likely putting a kayak mount of some kind on top of it and I want it as low profile as possible while still clearing the roof.

Also - sweet truck. I looked at your build thread and got some great ideas. I bought mine stock 5 years ago with 42K and it's been more or less an everyday driver and a weekend camping/hunting/fishing vehicle but I'm thinking of making some upgrades. First thing on my list is wheels and tires.

If anyone knows if Yakima (or other brand) kayak mounts would work with the KB voodoo racks let me know. Will ask them too.

I have a Thule TracRac SR are my truck and it works well with my Tuxedo tonneau. The rails stay on the truck and the racks can be put on or removed in minutes.

Thanks. The 14” with the tonneau brackets should put you right under the roofline. The kayak mounts should put you right over with the lowest profile. I went with 10” so the tent “should” be level with the inno racks I’m putting on the cab. That way I can use the crossbars and tent to secure my sup. Kayaks should fit over the cab. Let me know if you need any more pics.
