That’s a bummer and a shitty place to be with a friend. Just reinforces my decision to never let anyone drive my truck.

Yeah, as demonstrated by how fast one of our delivery trucks will get trashed.

You mean dents? After riding in the super white beast I knew I'd be getting a "3rd" gen. My 07 kept getting run into. I never let anyone drive it.

My wife used to work in insurance. We know better than to loan a vehicle to anyone. Insurance follows the vehicle, not the person. If you loan it out and they hurt someone you could be liable. At minimum, it's going to jack up your rates.

Finally delivered picture. Friend and I have come to an agreement on the issue. A wheel shop will give estimate if it can be polished/repaired, or replaced. Friend will cover that. I’m not telling them just yet, but I’m most likely going to let it slide, since he was honest about everything and has made a real effort to “make things right” 81FF3926-B9EF-46B7-80F7-82B0CC7333C6.jpg CC08C9EC-6E45-4F2D-B246-0B8D9F0FD9AE.jpg

I allow my 19-year old son to drive my truck, and will allow my wife to drive it but she refuses, which is okay.
I do not let anyone else drive it though. If someone needs something moved I go over there and do it for them. It is just better that way; in case something happens it does not ruin friendships.

I can't put into words how much I admire, respect and thoroughly appreciate the level of petty involved here. I just hope you didn't cheap out on the frame?

you can find those wheels dirt cheap on craigslist. buy one and move on.

hell your bud may even pay for it.

I'm sure he felt bad about rashing it.

obviously he doesn't drive a vehicle this big so misjudging a curb is easy.

now if flung a door open into a light pole while being a clueless jack ass then that's a different story.

good friends are hard to come by these days so if he's a good friend conserve that relationship. you too can borrow his car and crash a wheel to pay it forward hahaha.

Absolutely not. He’d told me when my daughter gave me the money that I’d “never win trying to out do my big brother”. He was super proud of himself.
I got a really nice frame and had it engraved “Jason - 1 Phillip - 0”. I wrapped it up and gave it to him when he visited for Christmas over a year later.

I tried to find a picture, but it must be on an old phone. I did find where my sister posted about it on Facebook. The one who mentions it being his own money is his wife:
