I'm looking to install an air ride lowering kit on my 2014 Tundra... Any recommendations are welcome in the Charlotte Metropolitan Area

Local guy recommended Firestone air ride system

I'm watching this . :yes:I would think a full custom lowrider shop could do it for sure .I at one point was looking into this instead of lifting my truck but couldn't find anything for the front of the truck at all it would have to be all customized I think

So the front suspension will be my biggest challenge?

I believe so yes. It's just that I couldn't find a kit at all that had air bag suspension components for the front. And for the rear it was lowering it then adding bags to raise it back up to drive. I didnt go to far into it before I said o well just lift it 6" and throw 35s on her. Lol

Oh ya. Rear is minor. How low are you wanting to go? FYI I bagged my c10 myself so have some experience. As far as air ride control I wouldn’t look at anything other than Accuair e level. Viair is the compressor brand of choice. I run Slam Specialties bags. They have the best bag pressure blow out rating and built in bumpstops.

@2ndgenny I forgot you have that truck. My brother and I owned a 1999 Lincoln town car with hydrolics at one point . It was a nightmare. Alot of fun weekend cruzing but it would break all the time. Lol

I watched an episode of "Bitchin Ride" and one of the employees has the auto lowering kit that would be perfect... Short of sending the truck to Utah, I would like to get all the information so I can make the right choices

Check this out. Might be worth talking to this guy about his build. I’ll tell you this isn’t a cheap idea haha

My plan is to have it lower automatically when I turn off the truck and raise up when it starts. I would like it to lower when off to 4 inches from the ground> I really appreciate all the recommendations and web links!!!! Thx man

I filled out the questionnaire from accuair and see what they have to say... My goal is to mod the truck with a turbo, air ride, body molding, change the hood and add fender vents to cool the turbo... I still need to sound deaden the cab... I will do this step by step

I see your truck and know you have some experience based on your your good recommendations, but the rear is not going to be a walk in the park...

I don't know of any bolt on systems for tundras, but even if there were, it looks like you want to lay frame. At a minimum you are looking at putting a huge notch in the frame, running a 4 link suspension, and then if you want to still use your bed, adding wheel tubs and a notch cover.

Here is the rear of my old full size cheby. Not quite as extreme as that tundra posted earlier that had the full custom back half frame. This is more of a minimum requirement type setup to put the frame on the ground. This is what my bed looked like before line-x too.

Just for fun, these are two of the trucks I built. A shop did the frame work on the full size before I had much fabricating experience. I did all the body work. I did the suspension on the sonoma. It has a 3 link on it.

Nice setup. And of course your right the rear takes work also. I wasn’t expecting him to want to lay body either haha. I was assuming he was wanting a ‘mild’ air ride. I built mine frame up in my garage and can respect your builds. My rear is triangular four linked and 12’ notched. Nice work
