Was servicing the Challenger at the dealership and saw this.

In to service the Challenger and saw this. Interesting little beach buggy but probably won’t break into the family use/daily commuter market with other trucks if it feels like the other jeeps inside. My buddy dumped his 4 door Wrangler for lack of comfort, just too cramped inside and uncomfortable for a family doing long trips. I don’t know the specs but I’d guess they’ll spark turnover from a few Jeep owners who think it’s cool who will dump older Wranglers for it but then that’s about it.

    52k sticker.

I just don’t like the way they look at all. Potential FCA reliability issues aside I would much rather have the Wrangler Unlimited instead.

I cannot believe the prices of new vehicles. $52K for a POS Jeep that will likely need a major overhaul before 100K miles. Unreal.

RUN!!! Run away as fast as you can from that FCA POS! If you want a JEEP then may I suggest picking up an older CJ and upgrading that? Trust me, it's cheaper and gives you way more street cred with real JEEP enthusiasts, not to mention your resale value will only go up.

I have owned several Jeeps including a 2014 JK... never had a serious problem with any of them until a Texas prison bus rear-ended me and totaled the JK. I had a 1977 J20 3/4 ton truck also that was an absolute beast. I'm not worried about street cred...LOL

I gotta say that now that they are owned by fiat I would expect to see a higher quality product, I believe we are seeing it already. Too bad Sergio Marchionne died though. Hopefully Michael Manley will be able to keep his standards alive.

I'm still in awe that a fully loaded Rubicon is $60k+.

If you check out the gladiator forum so many supporters state " you can take the doors off". I get that, but come on....1 out of 100 jeeps that I drive by may have the doors removed. Been there done that....and the road noise gets annoying (or maybe I'm just getting old).

There was a guy from here recently that had his doors pulled off and had the foot peg mod on the outside of the body of his Jeep that lost his leg pretty much at the knee in a freeway wreck. Just idiotic to have your leg outside of the chasis in traffic... Pretty much idiotic anywhere, for that matter.

    It’s different. I wouldn’t go from a Toyota to a gladiator.

SoCal mark up on these things are anywhere from $15-25k, with some having a dealer price of $100k.

    No thanks. lol

I think I a single cab would look a lot better. I don't like any 4 door jeeps other than the 90s Cherokee.

Unpopular opinion: the Gladiator is a bad ass truck

But it's all in what your looking for...
If you want an offroader to go topless through the summer or run to the beach it's perfect. I had a 14 jk and loved it. Got rid of it for something bigger

The killer is paying 60k for a mid-size. Not a chance in hell.
I picked up my platinum tundra for 44
I actually really like the Gladiator but I'll pick. One up in 15 years for 10k. Might need an engine swap by then tho

I was expecting the opposite. Chrysler was a great producer of cars and trucks in the 1960s and below. AMC acquisition was for jeep. Lee Iococa didn't help them in the 70s. Daimler helped in the engineering segment, hence the pentastar 3.6, etc. Fiat quality has generally been poor and rumors are they are pulling out of the US due to poor sales.

Not much in a name anymore as the majority have produced disposable cars. We are hanging on a thread with the Japanese thank God. Toyota and Honda are arguably miles ahead. I wouldn't expect quality or longevity out of Jeep or Dodge/Chrysler any time soon.

I am happy with my Challenger RT but it is the only FCA vehicle in recent memory I had interest in. I wanted one before they redesigned it and followed the Stang and Camaro, backing tracking from the recent retro renaissance back to the 90s wedge look. Like my Tundra, the 5.7/6 spd is a decade-plus old powertain combo with lots of real world testing behind it. It is the only modern muscle car that gave me a ‘gotta have one’ feeling that lasted from when it came out in 2008 until I gave in 3 years ago.

The 300/Charger/Magnum/Challenger was a nice lineup of Hemi cars. That cool factor plus the Viper is what got people into the showrooms during a tough stretch. Magnum dead, Viper dead, regular talk about killing the 300. If they fubar the visuals on the next gen Challenger and Charger on top of that you have to wonder, what sets them apart anymore.

    Lost track after #1.
Saw one on the road the other day. They look better in person. It's still a new model coming from FCA though, so expect a whole lotta bugs - and I don't mean on the windshield.

I'm not a jeep guy but I saw my cousins jeep today and I'd much rather go this route for less money.
