As of now I’m content with the stock JBL HU in my 3rd gen (call me crazy). Now I’m looking for more crisper highs and clear mid’s.

What are your thoughts with replacing all 4 door speakers, not sure which ones yet, and dash speakers (sides and center) with JL C1’s. Or do you have more recommendations on dash speakers?

I don’t want to dive down the rabbit hole just yet with a whole system rebuild.

Call crutchfield. There is something aboutToytas speakers being 2 ohm and aftermarket 4 ohm. Something with the factory amp

James at tech12volts makes some great brackets for for JL C1s for the dash. Definitely check his website for the speakers and brackets for the dash. Hertz k170 components are good in the doors with the stock JBL. There are several people here that went with tech12volts speakers and brackets and are very happy. He also sells a replacement sub and custom box for about $200. James will hook you up. Shoot him an email and let him know you're a member here.
