I’ve often heard that insurance companies will only pay for stock replacement parts on your truck should they get damaged in a collision or the truck get totaled. Not sure if others have knowledge of this but Geico will let you add modifications and their valuations to your policy for an additional fee.

Definitely puts my mind at ease knowing I can get money for those mods should something happen.

What insurance do y’all have and do they do something similar?

American Family - Not sure if they offer additional coverage for this, but worthwhile to look into especially after all the mods start adding up.

Allstate has a modification add on. One for audio and the other defined as aftermarket add ones.

How much extra does the gecko want to cover modifications? Like $5K in mods for $x.xx per month?

I think it depends on the initial rate you've been quoted but for another $3600 they were going to add $87ish to my policy.

$87 per year ($7.25/month) for $3600 in modification replacements. Sounds reasonable. The cost of mods can add up very quickly. I don't have nearly as much done to mine as others and I'm already in about 6-7K. Supercharger hopefully soon which will double that amount.

USAA quit offering extended coverage from my understanding.

Personally, I think the added insurance is a good thing. Six years ago I would have said something entirely different.

Almost all big name insurance carrier has that option BUT you gota tell them what you added/value and theyll come back w higher premiums. People want to pay less on premiums not more
