Factory Integrated Trailer Brakeing System

    Anyone out there figured out how to fix the problem with integrated trailer braking system?

    Tried Tekonsha P3 replacement does not work in 2019 Tundra. Wiring is different from
    purchased wiring harness.

    At wits end. No resolution with Dealer. Toyota is working on the software glitch. (?) Doesn't help me at all.

    If someone figures out how to wire in a P3 and to also avoid a permanent "trailer disconnected message" for replacing the IBC on a 2019 tundra crewmax it would be greatly appreciated. I have a friend who works in automotive parts that got me a curt echo to use as a back up. I had my P3 on my 2007 crewmax and it worked flawlessly. I would really like to install it in my 2019 but from searches it doesn't look like a plug and play. With all the issues I am seeing with the IBC I am even worried about the curt echo working. I am picking up my camper trailer this weekend and hope all goes well. Someone smarter than me needs to figure this out. I know just enough to be dangerous.

    Worst case have the P3 installed with a full bypass of the toyota wiring all the way back.

    Sucks to even suggest it.

    Same issue, installed a p3 in my dads 19 tacoma no issues, picked up a 19 tundra myself and tried to swap it with no luck. The stock controller is lacking at best, luckily I don't have any of the disconnect issues people seem to be dealing with.

    Just had my 2018 in dealer for this braking/ trailer disconnect problem.
    Found a TSB, flashed the computer. Seems to have fixed problem. Described as a "patch"

    What makes you say it's lacking? I'm curious.

    I just picked up my 19 Tundra & hooked up my 2020 Wolf Pup 16pf trailer...no issues, yet. Gain set to 7.0 and everything worked proportionally perfect, from what I could tell. My old P3 from my 4Runner did the same thing, both worked, so I'm wondering if I'm missing something.

    I was reading somewhere it's possible the LED's on the trailer don't have enough resistance so the truck thinks the trailer is disconnected. Similar problem if you upgrade headlights & get an error on some vehicles. There's a plug you can get for Euro's that eliminates the error, but i haven't seen anyone with a Tundra post that this worked.

    Either way, hopefully my 19 either already has the TSB done to it, or I don't need to do it, because that's super-lame.

    CO_Native........ I've got a 2019 Platinum and a 2017 Pup 16fq.

    I've got my gain cranked up to 10 on either of the electric brake settings (<5000, >5000) and can't get the trailer to lock up. Can feel a good tug when applying the brakes but not enough to lock the tires. Never had the disconnect issue that others have had.

    Which setting are you using? Just curious.

    Oh wow, I'm at 7 fully loaded on the 0-4999 setting and I thought that might be a bit too high as I can feel the trailer stopping the truck more than the truck stopping it.

    On my Tekonsha P2 in the 4Runner I had it on 8, but the runner was lighter & I was paranoid lol

    Glad you haven't had issued with your Pup either, hopefully we don't! *knocks on wood*
