I have a 2011 tundra with the spray on bedliner which I assume either came from the factory or the dealership? Anyhow when I go online and look at installing a roll up Tonneau cover, the example trucks don’t have bed liners so the adhesive tape used to attach the roll up Tonneau cover to the bed, adjacent to the cab, is installed on clean/shiny paint, without bed liner.

My question is, does it matter that I have a bed liner covering the paint when installing a roll up Tonneau cover?

Here’s a pic of the area of the bed I’m talking about, thanks for your help.

I have a Truxedo Duece cover on my Tundra with the spray in bedliner. No problems installing and using. The weather stripping did not stick well to the front of the bed so I removed it. The cover has a rubber boot that covers the front. I think the weather strip is just extra water protection. I have not seen much water in the bed and we have had a ton of rain.
