Hi, I have a 2010 Tundra DC Limited with the JBL system. I recently upgraded my head unit to an Alpine ILX-207 and by using an idatalink maestro I retained all factory features including amp and sub. However, my factory amp is failing and overheats and resets itself while in use. I want to remove the factory amplifier and replace it with a new one. What I'm wondering is if I can tap into the factory amplifier harnesses for making the connections for the new amplifier or is the JBL amp too complicated?

Not complicated at all. You'll want a good 5 channel amp, the JBL and Infinity are popular options for Tundra guys. There a multiple adapter harnesses available that allow you to grab speaker wires from the factory amp harness. These speaker wires will be connected to your new 5 channel amp outputs. For the wiring, you want to run 4 gauge wire and 3 sets of RCAs. Easy!

Seriously reach out to @james@tech12volts - he is awesome. He can get you up and running with a very easy DIY setup. Going to be buying speakers, amp, sub, wiring from him this week.
Super nice guy, very helpful in making a good decision and not pushing specific brands/models/gear at a specific price point.

I am getting a JL RD900/5, JL C1-650 Components for Front + Rear, and Sub Enclosure (Already have an ARC Audio 10" Sub)

That sounds awesome just reusing the existing wiring. One more question, do you know where I can get a wiring diagram for the 3 factory amp harnesses so I know which wires to splice? I'm planning on keeping the truck for a very long time so I have no problem cutting into the factory wires. My plan is to use a 5 channel amp, the metra speaker adapters to avoid running new wires, and then making the connections at the factory amp harnesses into my new amp, then rcas to the maestro unit.
I just need to know which wires on the factory harnesses are for which speakers.
I tried emailing James from tech12volts and got very simple 2 or 3 word responses and no information at all about the harness he offers. And ********* only offers adapters for 2 of the 3 harnesses, any link they have for JBL systems just routes you back to the non JBL equipment they sell.
