I dont know if this has been a topic on here but I wanted to blow off some steam...

I've had my truck for over a week now
Had no phone call from the dealer about my experience/ happiness and overall satisfaction with purchase of the vehicle
I never got a delivery afterwards the salesman I had,had to leave before we took delivery was never taken to the service department to meet the service advisors... then I got home a couple of days later I noticed a few minor scratches on the bed, the trucks interior was half Assed still dirt
on the dash and doors... Now comes the best part..
I wanted black steppers instead of the chrome I'm like a ton of people on here do not like chrome so they said before we signed the paperwork and everything that they will take it back and clean it and change the bars and get it off another truck I was like that fine or we can come the next day and pick it up so it can be fueled and cleaned and they could take there time..
Well before we went in to sign the sales manager said we cant do that I was like that's not what you told me he was like we have to order them itll be a couple of days to come in..
I'm like fine whatever at this point.. so I get a call yesterday that they were in and they can get me in on Monday morning itll be almost 2weeks to get them and put them on...
I'm not happy on bit with all this... I'm done now!!!!

Seems you expecting some things that a high end dealer may offer. I have never been "Introduced" to the service advisors at any dealership. The clean-up crew or detail guys are rarely trying to over achieve.

Dealerships can leave most with mixed feelings. I never expect anything that is not in writing. About the steps, sounds like they offered without knowing if in stock or the availability.

Sucks that things did not go as smoothly as expected.

When we bought my wife's Lexus, they walked us around and introduced all the different managers, but that is the only dealership that has done it. Never got the "tour" with Toyota or our most recent BMW purchase

yeah, so far, of all the different vehicles we've purchased, Lexus dealerships and staff are in a league of their own. Unfortunately, they didn't have anything that we wanted this time around (that I could afford, my wife would gladly drive a RC-F or LC500). But, we will definitely be looking at them again in a few years.

I will be "Devils Advocate", Texts probably did not get relayed to the right folks to get steps ordered, or just fell through the cracks. If he was not there when delivered he may have been busy or something personal going on. Not sure I would rely on texts alone.

We did not get a Lexus Dealership tour when we got the wife's GX 460. :(

When my wife purchased her Jeep Compass last month she was shown around to the service department, etc. This may just be a dealer/management preference. Didn't happen, and I didn't expect it to, when I purchased my used Tundra last year. But they soon knew who I was as my rack and pinion blew out and needed to be replaced within 1 week of purchase!

That does suck. They need to make good on their offers to you.

Social media is a beast though. Yelp, FB... sites like this one.

If you’re not satisfied, others should be warned.

My dealership did good on the things you’re complaining about. I got the tour, shook hands with everyone, and they walked me through the maintenance drive up. The truck was immaculate.

I wasn’t 100% happy, but the staff stayed polite and un-rushed.

You should have expected the same.

I always ask to walk the service department
I want to see what it looks like. Busy but still clean and in order is what I am
    Looking for.
If there is crap everywhere and not just from current jobs I am questioning what kind of work they do
In my previous life I was a mechanic in a factory and part of our AIB and ISO certs involved our shop standards.

You’re giving them a ton of money. They should step it up. Are you a repeat customer of theirs?

Dealerships are service-oriented. The service they provide is either acceptable or it’s not.

I've never heard of anyone getting a tour of the dealership and meeting service advisors unless they're buying a luxury car with a 6 figure price tag. The reason I buy Toyota is because I don't want to meet the service advisors or spend time at the dealership after buying the truck.

The delivery thing has always been "here's your keys. Want me to show you how to connect your phone to the bluetooth?"..."nope, I got it."...."have a great day!". There's nothing on a modern pickup truck that I don't know or can't figure out in a few minutes without spending even more time at a dealership.

The only issues I'd have with your experience would the incorrect step bars, which sounds like they're fixing and the dirt in the cab depending on how bad it was. A few small scratches in the bed don't bother me since I'd be putting Linex in there anyways. That said, if it look like they'd used the brand new truck for hauling stuff I'd kick up a fuss.

With the exception of the screw up on the steps and the scratches it sounds like you got off easy. I don't want a follow up call from the dealer and when my salesman took me to see the service dept and meet some of the advisors all I wanted to do was leave and drive my new truck

I never got a follow-up call from my dealer, and I didn’t want one LOL. But all those mofos remembered me when I went back to renegotiate my warranty, oh, you’re the dude that held out for the right price on your trade-in and fought for the best percentage. You know the part where they scribble on paper your percentage and monthly payment including your trade-in? I messed with him for over three hours until he got me what I wanted. I kept walking out and disappearing when he would be gone. Looking at other vehicles, telling him I might want to go to Dodge and see what they can do for me LOL. I was polite about everything. But I definitely made them work for it, in the end they all knew my name and even gave me a free Toyota gift bag. After all of that we all became friends. Every one of them made sure I was happy before I drove off.

Yea you probably shouldn't expect that from a Toyota dealership. That is more in the high end dealers. When I bought my Jaguar they did exactly that and introduced me to almost everyone at the dealership with follow up calls. Even got flowers to my house. But the price tag on that car is much higher than most cars at Toyota. All Lexus dealers do that as well.
