I thought I found a mod on here a while back that makes the cigarette lighters always on, now I can't find it. Was I just hallucinating????

why do you want it always on?

I wouldnt mess with the original cig lighters. but i'd suggest running a new line straight from the battery, with an in-line fuse. and that would be always on and independent from your other cig lighters.
Thats what i did, i have one in the back seat that i use for my fridge & oven and i have another in the bed of the truck that i use for my on board water. but i dont use cig lighter, but rather anderson plugs. i do have and adaptor with a cig lighter if i need it.

I'm wanting at least one always on so my phone can be changing when the truck is off. Is that the idea behind the USB mod?

    Thanks for the replies.

do you guys have any idea how many amps the horn circuit is on?
or the gauge of wire its is that youre' tapping?

i'd hate to plug something into that circuit and fry it. it would be a nightmare trying to trouble shoot where the problem was.

i still think its safer and 100x better to run a dedicated circuit for a new outlet on its own fuse.
