It really would have helped if you would have showed which speaker wires you hooked to in the back of the stereo

Here’s a box I built for 2 DD Audio Redline 8” 508 D2 subs. Rear seat sat right on top of it. Had it for a week and traded it for my current monster a Ampere Audio 3.0 15” in a T-line box I built. Fuck the rear passengers I took my long seat out and used the whole area for the box

Not sure if anyone is interested in bigger boxes but Here’s another box i built with dimensions. This one is for a 15” sub capable of 1500 watts rms. The box is 3.5cu.ft and tuned to 33hz. Any questions, issues or if your needing specific box dimensions for a sub box tailored to match your subwoofer specs. Just ask me or send me the spec sheet for your sub and dimensions you got to work with and we’ll come up with something.

@csuviper, any additional pointers? Just ordered a LOC and amp wiring kit. Just wanting to give the radio a bit more bass while keeping stuff looking stock. Just a 8" behind the seats.

Really not to difficult. Just run cables as clean as possible. Spend the extra money on cable covers/sleeves and take the extra time to get wires trimmed to good lengths.

Any luck with the box being available?

Do you at least remember the dimensions or at least what the height was on the box? I can get one made or look for a prefab box.

I just measured as I went along. Wasn’t hard to do though. Get a big section of cardboard from an appliance store. Build the box out of cardboard and tape with your dimensions and see how it fits under the seat and adjust your dimensions until it fits properly. It’s called a double wedge enclosure. Your bottom section will sit up 1” higher on the bottom of your front piece to make up the difference on the floorboard to the hump under the seat.

I was told by 2 different shops that they cant put a sub box behind the seats due to the rear window motor/space.

Well I too got tired of hunting for a box for a single 12 without spending a fortune, so I used Brian’s concept to make my own box for a sub/amp that I already had. The dimensions were modified to fit my needs and I added an amp rack next to the sub and wrapped it in carpet. And ran the wires behind the box for cleaner install.

For the line out converter I tapped on to the current sub’s wires in the back since the signal already went through the factory amp crossover.

I kept the factory plastic panel covering the factory sub but cut it about 1/2 way to remove the factory sub cover to fit the new box allowing part of the plastic to be there above the new box for the factory look.

I also ran a 2nd pair of RCAs from line out converter to the front to a volume control knob (I listen to range of music and wanted to have the ability to turn the sub up or down) and then back to the amp.

I didn’t really take many photos of the build, but if anyone is interested, I can provide specs.

It’s a night and day between factory sub and even wifey was impressed with sound quality and the build.

For those with a table saw and a little carpentry skills, pull the trigger. It cost me less than $50 to build the box.

    Thanks Brian for inspiration.

    Mods, what mods?

I'm trying to build my own box for a single 10" sub. Can you share the specs of your build?

    Please and thank you!

Your ‘21 Tundra will have different specs since I had black plastic paneling and a seat that flips the backrest down vs you shouldn’t have black paneling and a seat that has a seat rest flip up. I’d love to help, but I don’t think I will be very helpful.
