Interior led power

I'm looking for a hot when the key is on to install some led's that can be turned on and off with a remote. I have searched for this and found everyone who's taped into the light by emergency brake, and the wire behind drives seat under kick panels. I was thinking of taping into cigarette lighter. thanks

 

I tap into the lighter hot
Simple and it is right there.

Why not tap into a hot when off though if you are going to control them with a remote.

That way you can turn them on when approaching the truck

 

They will be in the footwells don't want to have to worry about forgetting to turn them off thanks for the reply. will work on it this weekend

 

Ok got that project done. Iv seen people putting in bed lights. I was wondering if anyone has hooked into the cargo light switch to turn them on and off?

Do you happen to know which wire you tapped into for that? Trying to do the same thing now on my 2014 and there's 3 different possible wire colors everyone is saying.
